[UPDATE] urbanmythology 10/27 A new message linked from the splash page:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://www.urbanmythology.net/requiem.txt
I can't believe it. I can't believe it. I am in shock... I feel so guilty. This is all my fault. Why did I need to stir up trouble with that autoresponder? I'm responsible for the deaths of three people. My hands have blood on them. Oh, what am I going to do?
I watched the camera feeds on Ron's page the other night, watched as they went into the tunnels under the hospital. Saw trouble brewing when the first feed went dead. Saw Palmer get hurt. I called the Cambridge police about it all. They didn't want to believe me at first. They get crank calls about the place all the time. Finally I convinced them into sending someone. All I could find out is that they have found and identified three bodies - Charles, Jaimie, and Palmer. The police won't talk to me about the case pending investigation - they questioned me over the phone the other night after they went out there but wouldn't tell me why. I'm waiting for the Cambridge paper to send me a clipping about the story. I have no idea what happened to Ron. Oh guys I'm so so sorry. God have mercy on their poor souls.
At least I was able to save Mark. I read that article about the anti-forty hertz tone and was able to make the device. I played the tone for Mark over the phone and it was like waking up someone from a heavy sleep. I hoped he knew something, but he's been pretty well brainwashed and couldn't tell me much. After I talked to him apparently he posted a confession to the Tomorrow's Talk site and turned himself in. Not a good idea. He's now in prison. The poor man had been controlled by Silver and his secret society goons. Mark kept saying he felt like he had been unraveling. I don't think that's just a coincidence. I think he used the site as some sort of outlet - who knows what he's hidden at the end?
And what the hell was that "reality game" message that Tomorrow's Talk had up, with credits? Yeah right. Those bastards are trying to cover their filthy tracks. I am so filled with rage right now. How many innocent people do they need to kill to make them feel big and important? I want to get them. I want their heads on platters. Help me with Mark's site. Maybe there's something there we will be able to use.

Whooo! Game on people, game on!
This is the greatest twist ever. It was a part of the story!
Was this intentional, or did our pleading get to the PM's ears and restart the game?
Sur-real.

I'm thinking this is the in-game encouragement to finish the unraveling. The PM's have been telling us to finish it, so now they are having an in game char urge us to {better encouragement if it's ingame than out i say} and are in the process tying up some loose ends. Well played!

So now we have that definite conclusion that they simply ended it early because we were being slow. Kind of makes me sad that they decided to end it early rather than wait for us to solve the unraveling and get into theseventhsons.

I don't know if that's what happened. I really doubt they would end the game early to punish us for not solving quick enough. I think I'll believe Pixiestix's spec that the PMs decided to give us an encore to tie up our loose ends.

I know that this is some pretty wild spec, but could the people we think are the PMs actually just be covering for the real PMs. Could they just be lulling us into a false sense of security...hmm.
I don't know. I'm completely freaking insane.

Yay Cardcaptors. "Expect the unexpected" Yeah, that fits now, none of us have any idea of wtf is gonna happen, hell, we still don't know what happened o_o'
Guess we just gotta figure out The Unraveling and what the SS box is for, maybe we'll get some answers as to what happened o_o

That's not what i meant in the least, and furthermore i see no reason to jump to that conclusion, if that was the case, they would not be giving us further information, they would have just stopped.
IF anything at all, i'll go for the spec i said {encore anyone?} or what spaceboy said:

Since no one seems to be sure what's going on, is it appropriate to still have the "Successfully Completed" tag on the front? May a "?" should be added at the end.
I can't say whether this is the official end or not, but if I was a PM who went through all the trouble to create all the different aspects of the game (the story, the websites, the character interaction, the videos, the audio, the puzzles) I wouldn't be able to just end it abruptly.
If it was because people were solving the puzzles "slowly", that's pretty weak as well. Besides I don't think you guys are slow at all, some of this stuff is difficult and obscure and you still get it within days. If the PMs are that frustrated or impatient that seems rediculous.
Hell, Ed even says in his post that the ARG was a cover up!! That is an in game character telling us it was a cover up! I think this is a great twist, how often does an ARG use ARGs as apart of its plot? All the sites are restored, and whether or not this was some weird move by the PM's to "change their minds" about abruptly ending the game or not, it's obvious there is more to do.
This is just the opinion of a lurker who has very much enjoyed being apart of the peanut gallery. Whether it's the end or not, good job players and creators.

Hey guys...who's body is missing? RON.
What character mentioned playing around with ARGs in the past? RON.
Who can manipulate websites? RON.
Maybe he's been brainwashed???????

Ed updated his About page again. Giving us help with the Gun Puzzle on TU. Also has a link to an article he was sent. Click on "newspaper clipping".
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Confirms that Charles, Jaimie, and John are dead. Says that only 3 bodies were found, though. No Ron. Hmmm....

Oooh Kona, I think you're right, except I don't think he was brainwashed, I think he might have been a part of it all along. That would explain his willingness to confide in complete strangers about his job problems, why his story of escaping from the TT offices was almost a word for word copy of Ed's story and why if you enter rdaubert on the SS clock page it takes you to a new page (this was found by Enaxor). It's possible his role was to get all the people dangerous to the SS cause in one place so they could be dealt with. Maybe Ron is actually Richard. We should warn Ed to run far away and not talk to Ron if he should contact him.
Neat spec Kona

Unfortunately this is a red herring. As seen in this thread , a similar thing happened when we entered "Ed House" into the first "Who are you" box on the SS site...
