[Trailhead] Cell2536 Strange email/ drawings Hey guys, I got some strange stuff sent to me today, odd drawings that I don't really know what to make of.
The first email had the image cell2536.jpg attached, and was followed instantly by another email containing this
Quote:
Warning - Security Breach - Cell2536
Code-325: Sending Email to unknown source
-Your Email address has been noted-
Please contact □□□□□□□□□□□□□□ 'IT Security Department'
I replied to the first email ( but not the second) saying I couldn't understand, and I got another image sent to me later,of a figure in a cage. entitled INtroDUCtion.jpg.
Only the security breach email had legible text the other two just had these "□□□□□□□□□□□□□□"
Straight up this feels like an ARG to me, however one I don't really have time for that kind of commitment, and well I am horrifically bad at puzzle solving.
So I am just going to leave the email I was sent it from here, and see if you guys can make heads or tails of this stuff.

also i noticed that it looks like the breach alert level is going up eveytime some one emails. i dont know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but i think we should just be carefull about how many emails people are sending just untill we know whats going on

The cell2536 image decodes to
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Solved as a cryptogram.
I DONT KNO(W) IF ANY ONE WILL GET THIS BUT IF YOU GET THIS PLEASE HELP ME
There's a W missing from the code whether on purpose or accidental I don't know.
Using the same alphabet the Introduction image decodes to
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
IM EDEN MUNROW
I'm guessing at the R.
Edit: The Bangbangbang image confirms the R. I assume this is ?her? name.
And then the Autobio image decodes to
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
ITS ME
Again I'm including some letters that are missing to make more sense.
Nvm fixed a decoding mistake. I assume this is a picture of her in the cell.
I will send an email while the Breach level is low...

Spoiler for anyone still working on the codes...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It can be done relatively quickly by hand especially when there are so many common words. Each symbol represents a letter. Looking at the first code, the first symbol is a word all to itself which means it's either A or I. It turned out to be I (trial and error). Change all instances of that symbol in the code to I. Continue with trial and error on the two letter words until eventually you have enough to read the message.
I also use this website http://www.ics.uci.edu/~eppstein/cryptogram/. Just change all the symbols to random letters of course giving the same letter to every instance of a particular symbol then run it through the above site. Sometimes the message falls right out and sometimes you have to tinker with it as I did in this case. Still you get enough that through trial and error you can get the message.
Hope that helps and feel free to PM any other questions you have.
