I think it might be worth pointing out some interesting facts about the first member of ToTheArk. He...

  • Is or was a film student. (See his editing abilities.)
  • Has access to the Marble Hornets tapes, even to parts of them that didn't appear in Jay's uploads (TTA: Advocate) or to sound from them which Jay claims was removed (apparently TTA: Operator).
  • Was the second present-time person in the series, appearing (TTA: regards, 22 Jul 2009) months before anyone but Jay (the next being Tim, in Entry 15, 3 Oct 2009) and just 32 days after the start of the series (Introduction, 20 Jun 2009).
  • Was probably an original MH cast or crew member.
  • Can somehow persuade Jay to do very stupid things (returning to the house, TTA: Signal and Entry 18, TTA: Admission and Entry 22).
  • Knows an awful lot about Jay's living situation (TTA: Messages).
  • Can access Jay's accounts with impunity (Entry ######, enttry #37, Entry #61).
  • Enjoys posting videos of supernatural monsters stalking him to YouTube.

I think all those things can be chalked up to creepy powers and (possibly justified) stalking. Look at the ease of which TTA breaks in and does recon. He could easily have scouted out any passwords/pins/account numbers/logins to porn sites he wanted to.

Seth or Brian have my vote. Particularly Brian because he was the other guy aside from Tim who got bonked in the burned out building who we all know is the guy with the mask. I think these things are related.

Edit: One thing that I do like supporting TTA is Jay's other personality is when TTA tells Jay "look at what you did." If Jay is TTA, that would be a blatant giveaway.

Still sticking with Brian, tho.

do you actually watch the series

how would jay's "other personality" know what hoody hid inside the tunnel before jay went into it, how would jay's "other personality" film himself multiple times

While I will admit my interest in the series is more on the "casual" side, I have watched the series beginning to end. I just caught up with it from where I previously left off with entry 50 last year this weekend.

First, Jay isn't my main bet. Brian is. Secondly this is a show that deals with supernatural. It doesn't have to be real, just spooky. Some amount of BS and suspended disbelief goes without say. Thirdly, he seems to have no problem setting down a camera and then being somewhere else in Entry 61. why would he have a problem planting cameras on his own crazy self?

But I reiterate. I don't think it's Jay. I was just stating something that had me saying "what if?" to myself for a couple of minutes, cause, you know, that is part of the fun of this.

Probably nothing. Entry#17 when they're filming Tim by the window and Slenderman is outside the window.

Alex asks 'Hey, do you know where Brian is?' and Tim says 'Errr..i think he said he was just running down to the store or something...he should be back any minute'

Seems a bit weird to include that if it means absolutely nothing, as Brian was unimportant to this clip. Worth a thought.

I believe they were filming that scene in Brian's house. So it would be strange for him not to be there.

I thought the same thing when I rewatched it. And how do we know for sure that it was Brian's house they were filming in?

Well, the whole point was that everyone was casually ignoring the suited abomination, so he very well might have been unimportant.

"Brian has a wonderful taste in art".

Though that might have been Entry 20, I can't remember. Same place either way. I don't think Brian would hang up a painting in someone else's home.

I think it's Jessica. The fact that the camera acted strangely around her despite her not being a cloaked/masked/hooded figure is strange, stranger still, she was apparently kicked out of Alex's apartment at some time in the past for unknown reasons-- most likely because she's burning horrible little sacrifices to the Operator on an altar covered in black candles and pictures of Ronald Reagan.

Don't forget the emptied ketchup packets.

Ugh but that doesn't make much sense; why would she have been in the hotel with Jay, or even involved in the beginning? Alex would have known about her; it's pretty clear he's working with (or, at least, not against) the Operator.

Hmm. Yeah, but that's in a different part of the house, so we have no way to know for sure that the blatant Slendy-outside-the-window scene is really in Brian's place.

The hall where they greet Tim is exactly the same as the one Jay goes down three times in the house visits, it has to be the same place.

Well, the way I see it, maybe Jessica has known Alex for a lot longer than we know of. Maybe she was the one who introduced the Operator into his life at a young age, hence his willingness to kill her in Entry 52.

I don't think you have to go back that far to make a case for Jessica. Mind, I'm not really in the Jessica camp, but there are some interesting timeline points that could make her a plausible candidate. The MH shoot was 2006. Sometime between 2006 and 2009, Jay acquired the first set of tapes. By the time we see Alex in "real time" in Entry # 26, he is acquainted with Amy (apparently dating her), and would therefore probably be acquainted with Jessica, Amy's roommate. Alex and Amy could have begun to date at any time after Jay acquired Alex's tapes. So, if they began dating before Jay's first entry, then it's possible that Jessica became involved early enough to be totheark, through her aquaintance with Alex.

It's not likely, given that 26 implies that nothing supernatural had been happening around Alex for some time, but consider this: if Jessica became involved before the Entries but after the original MH shoot, she would be unique in that characteristic. It could have interesting implications for her mental health or her depth of knowledge about what's happening compared to the ignorance of other characters, and so on.

As I said, I don't think the evidence supports this theory, but if somebody could make the timetable really work, the consequences could be interesting.
