[SPOILER] Official XBox Magazine HALO 2 Review

I just picked up my new issue of XBox mag and it's got the HALO 2 review...including single player info.

I'm hesitant to post anything, even in spoiler blocks. So, if there are those out there that can't wait for info and don't have access to XBox mag, then I'll post some info.

Here is one spoiler that is definetly a spoiler think twice before checking:
[edit] As suggested, this is a Multiplater spoiler.[/edit]

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
For multiplayer maps, I've got good news. Blood Gulch is back and it's been upgraded. The red and blue bases have had lower lever 'garages' put in to house the banshee. It's called "Coagulation" and its the Blood Gulch outpost a few years later after the caves have been mined out some more and the bases have become larger. I'll see if I can find a picture of it.

for those wondering, it's a multiplayer spoiler, not a single player campaign spoiler... I took the risk and checked it Smile

let people know what kind of spoiler it is, helps out a lot... I'm all for reading multiplayer spoiler, but single player I want to be kept in the dark until the 9th... Wink

Thanks for risking it, thebruce. Smile No way was I going to rollover that box if it was a single player spoiler.

Sorry guys,
I won't read the single player stuff myself, so I can't relay it. I should have made that more clear. I just skimmed through looking for multiplayer info and weapon info.

For the first time in my life, I'm dreading the arrival of my OXM. It is usually a monthly event for which I wait with great anticipation, now I dread the temptation to look and spoil things. MUST NOT LOOK!

I feel the same way weephun, but I know the second I see it the temptation is going to force me to tear it open and examine every page for the goodness that is halo 2...

Oh, temptation, my greatest of adversaries...

Simmer.

Relax, guys, the spoilers aren't that bad. They're very vague, and unless you've kept out of the loop this long on just about everything to do with Halo 2, it mostly reinforces what you've heard.

Some guy went ahead and dropped a spoiler bomb on another forum I go to, though. (First half of the game) It sucked the big one, and while not really giving anything away that I hadn't already assumed. OXM is far tamer than that.

to late... I already read it all... I will tell you that if you don't want to ruin ANY of the single player campaign then don't read pages:

46, 48, 53, 57 (which is in the sealed Halo 2 secrets section) or 58

Page 48 had the most spoilery information on it, so you've been warned!! Don't READ IT!!!

I was disappointed by some of the things Bungie let them print in the article...

Hmmm, I'd roughly say...10 pages. There's a lot of really awesome screen shots that just show off how beautiful the game is. As for the article, i skimmed through and it is pretty tame for spoiler info, but like grifter said, I'm surprised bungie let them print somethings.

without asking for out and out spoilers... what do you mean in general terms by surprise over what bungie allowed them to print? Was the article unkind about halo 2, or did it reveal too much spoiling storyline? I really mean in the most general of terms as I am only interested in nthe nature of surprise and do not want to see any spoilers for myself or anyone else. Smile

Basically they tell you exactly what happens on the first level of the game and all the set up that comes before it. They also bust some rumors/specualations from fans, which I thought was disappointing cause I didn't want to be told some of it in an article that is supposed to be a review of the game (i.e. how does it play, how does it look, sound, etc.)

I will say they gave it a 9.7/10, which is great, and no I won't tell you why it's not 10 /10, cause again I think they said more than they should have about the only negative of the game.

And for those wondering how many pages are left after all the ones I list that contained campaign information, there are plenty more pages. About 10 pages all total. The only pages you should really stay away from if you don't want any spoiler info is page 48 and page 58. Those were the two that really disappointed me.

For those going to the Combat Training Exercises, this may be something to watch. This may prove to be valuable intel for our missions. BUT DO NOT WATCH IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SEE MP MAPS! AS WELL AS SOME WEAPON AND VEHICLE SPOILERS!
