My first ARG Hey guys I don't want this marked as spam so let me know if this doesn't belong Thank You.
Ok so I was just thinking the ARG world for me once, I first got sucked in I would have never thought something like this existed but ..... it does. So I was wondering what your guys/girls first time was like and knowing how for me at least that I wouldn't have found what this world was if it hadnt been for a YouTube video IGN posted saying is there an "ARG for Halo 4?" so as a fan I naturally was interested and behold it was the almighty well .... eh IceFly game.
So lets see what your guys first experience was.

My first ARG was a corporate sponsored event which was documented by the company that put it on http://www.nomimes.com/work/cisco-threshold.html. It lasted 3 weeks and I averaged about 2 hours sleep per night. After that I scaled back the next year when they did this one - http://www.nomimes.com/work/cisco-hunt.html. That was the last time they did an ARG so I then started watching ARGnet and UNFiction for anything interesting and really started with the Snowtown USA.

IMHO this kind of topic is better suited for the meta subforum, and not news and rumors, as this is neither something new or a rumor.

Moved to META discussion. It was a toss up between here and Various & Sundry =P
Also, my first ARG was I Love Bees. And nothing's yet come close to that for me

My first introduction to ARGs was in late middle school, early high school- maybe even the summer between then, with the book Little Brother which had an ARG as the main framing device/jumping off point for the real plot.
A few months after that a friend of mine lent me Skeleton Creek , and I had a few weeks of looking up the sites and passwords and everything. I didn't consider it an ARG then, because I had forgotten about Little Brother .
Then in uni I was home sick one day and a friend sent me a link to Marble Hornets (she visits random parts of youtube and sends me the odd shit she finds...) Entry #49, and I ended up watching all the videos and looking around for a site discussing it to share theories and such, and from there I found uF. I lurked a bit on the other sections of the forum and finally started off with Crux_Crucible, or The Crucible, which is a game that I still fangirl over (it helps that most of the PMs and players are still in touch with each other because we all bonded really well over the course of it) and am always glad to call my first 'official' ARG. :p

My first ARG...was Cloverfield. Something about being drawn into another reality just seemed so amazing. I played smaller ones, but really got hooked with Flynn Lives.

My first "ARG" was "Ares Station". I really enjoyed the characters that you got to interact with. I knew nothing about "ARGs" at the time, I thought it was a form of roleplaying, where the players chose their own characters to become. Its a silly thought looking back, but I got the hang of it within a few days.
I found out about "ARGs" by watching an interview on G4tv about this game, which later I found out was "I Love Bees", where people were getting off the couch, going outside and interacting with the game by answering payphones. I thought that was really neat.
Been hooked ever since.

Chasing the Wish My first ARG was Chasing the Wish - a stand alone grass roots ARG, from the time before ARGs became funded by corporations, as advertizing for their products (or a "Thank You" to fans of a product).

Push NV (ABC TV show) sucked me into the world that had just barely arose on the internets.
My first ARG (which I also played a small BTS role) was Dave's "Chasing the Wish".
My favorite (duh) was Labfly's "Sammeeeees" (see my signature for the walk-through link).

I read the book Pattern Recognition by William Gibson and that was my formal introduction to what I perceived to be an ARG. I've always missed out on ARGs but since I've joined this forum I'm hoping to find some and play along with you guys.

I just now realized that yes, Pattern Recognition was about ARGs. Haha! I never saw that connection. :3
