I heard this a rumor a couple of weeks ago. Bungie & Microsoft say that there should be enough copies to go around - Halo 2 went gold back on 10/11, almost a full month before the release date. PLENTY of time for them to press enough copies.

I'm not worried, I was the 3rd in line to reserve a copy, before there even was a Spec Ed, and Game Stop is giving those of us who did that first dibs. Which, now that I think about it, may be why they are already sold out of them....heh...heh....

So yeah, between that, and the midnight openning, I should be fine...

Game Crazy actually cut off preorders after they recieved so many for the Collectors edition. I don't see why other stores would do the same.

I heard from both EB and Game CrAzy, that they only get a limited number from Microsoft. They can only presell something like 25-30 copies, and then they get no more. I don't know if thats the actual number, but I was told it was pretty low.

I can't believe they would only limited edition these as people are probably more willing to buy it for the extras. Oh well, I got mine pre-ordered.

I work at Gamestop. Well over a million orders to fill up the first shipment. Second shipment(for us and the 3 other Gamestops in the region) are getting the second Speical Edition shipments on the 16th. But check out your local store anyway if you have the Speical Edition reserved for the second shipment, alot of peopl decide last minuet they want the regular edition(don't want to spend that extra $5) and I know at our store if we have extra copys and you decide you want the regular edition instead you can switch your reserve.

ditto... asked about 'first come first served', they never answered directly, just said no worries, you're guaranteed one. I find it hard to believe that thye can guarantee a copy no matter how many people sign up... <shrug> oh well, I still plan to be within the first 5 people at my store in line, if not the first Smile

leaving for EB right after work at 6pm, just gonna hang out in the mall until midnight Smile

Everyone is like, "I preordered mine back in August. I am DA MAN!!!" Well guess what sons. I preordered mine in June of 2003 (when people thought it would be coming out that November). So there. But then I had to cancel my preorder and preorder the Special ED. which I did a good 6 monthes ago. So there.
HAHAHA.
