rose did a great job of summarizing everything up to where we are.. now to go from 9 to 10..

The incident log features a security guy monitoring the Aquapolis. The name of the flash ROTs to "missing level".. if you turn on your speakers you can hear his voice saying:

"..calm down.. Who's on Santorini?.. He doesn't have access there... What lobby was he in? Hold on.. (clicks on the level) No doesn't look like he's in there.. alright.. just keep going on with your rounds.."

If you remember the original Aquapolis analysis, some of the guys were counting the number of rooms there should be from the logs, and found that there were about 50 units missing, which lead to the conclusion that there is a "hidden" level.

The name of the other 10 levels were all Cyclade greek islands, and some of the major ones are Mykonos (which the aquapolis is built at) and Santorini (just been there this summer, amazing experience)

That's how we get to santorini.html..

Now santorini.html has a 3D rendering of the aquapolis, but what's different is that instead of the old renderings we did with 10 levels, there are 11 levels.. and you can see santorini at the bottom with no connections back to the middle sphere.. That's the hidden level nobody knows about or has access to..

Possible solve would have to do with the Guide layer from the flash, the hidden texh we found (liferelease? death?) or maybe where the pointer is pointing.. hmm

I know that's a long explanation but you kept asking for it Smile

Check this out if you want to understand the 3D rendering better:

I'm working on plotting the positions of the pointer in each frame. (That is, I did it until I got bored and I intend to continue later)

I'll see if that gets anywhere

Well at least I now feel the idiot I must seem............. Embarassed

My apologies steve, I didn't have my speakers on.

And for those following along, the hidden text on santorini can be found by right clicking and zooming in on the area where the pointer stops.

Oh, neat, thanks for that. I was wondering. So it seems this may be the reason for the moving cursor?

clues

so what clues are out there?

missing level

life release (corrected)

http://omnie.250free.com/shape.jpg

and the hidden text which no amount of right clicking on my part reveals..or is this the releaselife clue?

(does releaselife mean something like "a new lease on life?")

Yeah the text says "liferelease", right click and zoom in.
I've tried a bazillon things.....just a couple of examples:

escape hatch
free (release) spirit (life)

Thought it possible that since the text is written backwards it may mean opposite:

death (life) grip (release)

Also thought that with the history of Sanotrini and Volcanos, liferelease could mean Eruption....

Thought that with Santorini/Greek maybe liferelease (death) in Greek...fonos

And many many more..........plus I tried entering alot of them backwards because of the way liferelease is written (esaelerefil)

.....and yes I even tried "canvas" as an "easel refill"

Shocked

Ooh, Ormond's metadex is getting updated! Neat! (...it wasn't like that before, right?)

Hee, otherworldly green glow. And, aww. Stefan is sounding a bit like Beth, with all the wonder over the supernatural. I wonder whatever happened to Beth, anyway. I mean, the agent guy knew about her from Kat, so she wasn't really safe at all from the Monitor dudes like she thought she was. I'd rather liked her, too. If Dina had to die (I've gradually moved on from denial over that one, but barely! Cruel PMs!), I hope at least Beth survived. Or hopped on over into Caesar's miniworld when she realized the danger or something. Incidentally, "Caesar's Miniworld" would be an awesome name for an amusement park ride of some sort. Although I'm not sure what sort it would be.

(Also, rose, the hyphen is new.)

Subject: Field Data Collection Results

Marcus,

I have good news and bad news. The good news is that all the logistics for our field data collection came off without a hitch. We arrived in the village with plenty of time to get set up. The equipment arrived in one piece and tested completely functional. In short, the planning and lead up could not have gone better. I really appreciate the special effort you made to make sure that the funding was in place and the way for us was made clear. I'm good for my word Marcus. You've done your part, and I'll do mine: No one else ever needs to know what happened in that room at the Aquapolis.

Now for the bad news: We came away with not a whit of useful data. We knew beforehand that we might be dealing with some unusually high-intensity spectra, and we made special efforts to ensure that our instruments could handle anything that we encountered, but it turned out not to be enough. I cannot explain why it happened, but the spectroradiometers either recorded absolutely nothing, or their components shorted out and fried right there on the spot, leaving us with several hundred kilograms of useless junk. To say that I am disappointed would be to put it mildly. We had an opportunity to collect data on something extraordinary, and we came away with nothing tangible.

On a more personal note, it was an incredible experience. While the instruments didn't capture anything, each and every member of our field team certainly sensed the anomaly with our own faculties. The greenish glow was quite visible. It was pervasive, eerie, like something from out of this world. And the ultra-violet radiation was definitely there too. As you know, I am of Scandinavian heritage and am rather fair-skinned: I found myself looking rather tanned when I saw myself in the light of day today. We were in the presence of something extraordinary. We know nothing more about it from a scientific point of view than we did before, but it was not a total loss for me, because experiencing it had a different kind of value. There are still things in the world that we do not understand, we cannot explain, and apparently we also cannot record. It's actually a little reassuring for me to know that this is the case.

Stefan

Do we have the metadex login for him?

Or can we email him?

I remain steadfastly stuck here staring at the pages we have so far.

Nope, no metadex login (he wasn't an active character in MU), since we usually got them from characters getting emails from [login]@metadex.net. Also, I think e-mailing him at metacortechs wouldn't do anything since the, ah, old-time PMs have that webpage.

The idea of something happening on Oct. 31st is interesting. Last year, a whole bunch of people got a freaky phone call, and the Metacortechs webpage got all scrambled and crazy. Hee, I don't know if this is of interest to anyone, but I just dug up the damage control e-mail that Metacortechs sent afterwards:

Dear BetaTest applicant,

On the evening of October 31st, a large electrical storm passed through a portion of the Pacific Northwest. Power surges and outages were reported in the Redland area in particular. Our own backup systems survived the disturbance.

It has come to our attention that our MetaBroadcast server (which has remote connections to outside providers) momentarily went down, resulting in automated phone calls going out to a portion of our current applicant database. Metacortechs and its affiliates would like to extend sincere apologies for any confusion or inconvenience this might have caused for you.

Our technicians are currently securing all telephony circuits and lines. Your information is valued, and secure, and we do not anticipate any future occurrences.

Thank you!
