This is a very good idea. I could definitely use some technical help. Mods? Is this possible? Very Happy

Well, I know stuff like castingcalldallas has a section for just for webseries, and the form on the site has sections where you can also add crew/producers instead of just a cast. I'm planning on using that for my ARG (non-slendy, of course), for a co-writer/script format-er and an editor as well as various actor/esses. I'm sure there's other casting call sites for places all over. Or there's always the PM-recruitment thread on the PM Help section.

On topic: Seconding camera angles (The X-Files comes to mind, The Scully Box), and a hat, as suggested above, might also add to the height of SM a bit more.

Having gone through this, I figured I'd share some tips:

1) Elevator Insoles - surprisingly good for giving you a little height boost. Work best in boots but don't impede walking that much.

2) Tie cotton or tape around the suit's extremities - mainly the armpits and elbows, possibly also the knees and crotch - so that the limbs look slimmer.

3) If you're using a morphsuit or gloves, you can lengthen your fingers by wearing thimbles, lipsticks, or something similar on the ends of your fingers underneath the glove/suit.

4) If you have the option, cast the shortest people you know as the protagonists and/or the people who will be seen near Ol' Slendy most often. Use small props/scenery if need be. Also encourage the rest of your cast to slouch I guess.

5) Dumb old Hollywood tricks - stand on a box, or put the other actors in a trench. Impedes movement a bit, but when people are moving it's a lot harder to compare their height anyway. (You can even be clever and show Slendy's feet on the ground, then do a bit of creative editing so that when you show his upper half he's standing on the box. Every little helps.)

Obviously there's better techniques, but these are good if you don't want to spent a lot. If you did all of those, your Slendy'll probably look about a foot taller off the bat.

Also, while I was skeptical about them at first, morphsuits are totally work the expense. Also the old lady you phone up to speak to them about it is really sweet. I spent bloody ages making a papier mache mask, and honestly, while it was fun, it didn't look very good in the end.

Ooh, thanks for the tips!

When you're talking about tying cotton or tape around the suit's extremities, do you mean on the outside of the suit? How would you do that without it being noticeable? Black tape?

Yeah, black cotton will work, or duct tape out of sight. Also, to make the arms thinner you can put a fold in the back of the sleeves of the suit and either tape or stitch it to hold it tighter.

Guys, how many of you are making your own Slenderseries?

It seems like there are hundreds out there, now.

Do y'all think this will take collective attention away from any given individual series, since there are just so many?

I'm making one, as you may have noticed. I don't know when I am going to really "start" the series tho. I'm hoping it's not rlllll bad.

Haha, see, now I feel genuinely guilty for not putting my shit out there. Link is in my sig. Not sure it's completely Ready For Primetime yet but if you like long long looooong periods of fuck all happening you'll love it.

I don't see whats so bad about having more content than less.

People enter slenderman via the big three,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
well now they enter through slender
then they branch out and explore other series.

Assuming the big three is MH, EMH and TT, I'm sort of curious as to what the best "Second-tier" content to look into is. I tried DarkHarvest and MLAndersen but they didn't really grab me to the same extent.

I don't think its fair to classify series in "tiers". There are many series with less than 100 views that I would say are better than MH. Just browse around for trailheads.

Oh, I do mean strictly in terms of popularity/importance to the mythos. Personally I don't really care much for EMH, but I wouldn't deny that it's been pretty popular. I'm hoping that there are a few series out there that are as strong as MH and TT, but there doesn't seem to be as much consensus on it.

Ah, smexcellent! That'll be quite useful. Not that I would't want to wade through every series, but... well, no, that's bollocks, I wouldn't. =/

NEW QUESTION: You know how The Operator (Slendy) in Marble Hornets has flipper-looking appendages? How could you recreate that? Are they just gloves that you can't really see very well, or what? Of all the SM looks, I love this one the most.

What I did was take a black cloth, wrap it around a cardboard tube and cut and sew it until it looked like the ones in Marble Hornets. If you want an example, just look for a post by Punxtr and look at current avatar.
