They're both saying the username is right, but that we need to get some letters into that passcode.

After fail-whale with various ciphers & substitutions am left with what originally struck me: the last 6 digits in 771492263 look like a date, possibly an enlistment date.

Well, I came back to it for a few hours but, you know, whatever. I'm going to sleep. If this game was the real world, Adam would be dead or gone by the time I woke up.
Either we're missing something totally obvious or the PMs thought that it'd be totally obvious but it wasn't.
I hope one of you figures it out, or the PMs slip the answer to someone quietly. I don't want to think about 771492263 ever again, and its just been a day.
Anyone remember the Let Op "a pawn" fiasco?

I'm getting the feeling that I'm going to feel really stupid when I know the answer.
What am I talking about? I don't know the answer and I already feel stupid. What is the bleeding password? XD

So, they would prefer that we not brute force our way in. (Husband told me no anyways.)
I agree that the last 4 digits look like a year. I can see the mission number in there too. (When combined with patrol number.)
FWIW using a significant date to the user is bad security. But we don't have 8542's birthday or graduation date or anniversary - so those are all out.
A good strong password has letters (both capital & not), numbers & symbols.
For all we know the numbers could have been scrambled or had a tag attached to it. :/

I couldn't...I wouldn't, stop thinking about this last night. What do we know about the Aegis that could define something about these numbers?
The Aegis clearly build their imagery around very ancient Earth culture. Their name is Greek but was used in Roman and Norse mythology. I've even heard the quote they use comes from an old Norse poem.
And now, we have numbers. This is where my knowledge ends. But if writing those numbers was the fastest way to get that information down, I have to think nothing else but that the numbers ARE the password, just written differently. And since it's an Aegis password..could it somehow tie in with those ancient cultures they base much of their imagery off of?
I feel SO ashamed that they have to walk us through this like preschool teachers. Dear god let this clue be enough.
Edit: Thank god. Now lets find him.

You...are my new favorite person. I was just about to post the same..but I broke the numbers down into threes..just because roman numbers don't go as high as the original numbers..

A series of questions will be asked to ensure you are who you say you are. Only a Horizon Industries employed citizen would know the answer to these questions. A civilian would not.
Would you like to proceed?

Are you kidding me? I actually had that typed out in Notepad, looked at it and said no way and didn't bother trying. Goes to show, try everything.
ETA - As for proceeding, we might need Allison for this as it requires an ID card (her fake?), unless they can fake some up for the rest of us.

Just under 12 light years? Not sure how specific you need to be.

What are you planning on doing when it gets to the badge ID photo and "you using your terminal for verification" photo?
