Meh

It is alright. Sets stuff up, but we need answers now. Not all at the end. Plus these waits are really taking the piss out of the series.

Also really liked the "One of us could end up dead." line. That's the kinda thing that the characters usually sort of dance around, and when one of them finally said it I could see the magnitude of it dawning on Tim, and even Jay by the way the camera moved afterward. Thought that was pretty cool.

The acting in this entry was really good! I liked this entry because it set stuff up. The plot didn't advance but we know it will, and that's good enough for me.

That's not exactly the way you come off...

Do you really think I'd sit around unfiction if I wasn't? I love MH and will always support them, but they're really fucking up with this season imo. They need to take longer breaks if they have to. If I got some kind of worthwhile entry, even if it took 3 months, I wouldn't bitch after it came out.

All we're getting is a bunch of dumb stuff that doesn't help jay accomplish anything, weeks at a time, and it's not good enough. I try to have a positive outlook on it but it just doesn't satisfy me the way season 2 did. Jay's investigation is no better than it was 3 years ago, and we have barely any more clues to go on. This whole season was spent on tim's backstory and now it's completely irrelevant to jay's investigation

I also agree that viewed all at one time this will fit fine. But that's bullshit, we shouldn't have to watch this all at once for it to be worthwhile. the fan dedication is there day by day, we sit here and talk about the stuff. I don't care if they're busy, take more time to make the entries. Putting out subpar shit is worse than putting out nothing at all.

And i'm not leaving the forums. this is my way of venting and you can just deal with it.

and you can read this post and think "fuck you dude, shut up" and that's fine with me. i'm just stating my disappointment with something i've been following for 3 years. the fact that even one person agrees with me makes me content with my opinion. i used to defend the shit out of this series even when i didn't think it was all that amazing, but i'm done doing that.[/b][/code]

And yeah. I get that the wait sucks, the short entry sucks, but they know us, we can make a three page theory off a single frame. (the whole ark fiasco)
They make masses of cash off the channel. But of course they still have life and all.
I think of it this way, I'm watching a movie in progress. Some fantastic movies took years, maybe decades to create, but were received amazingly because of the investments put into it.
/essay
Stopping short there.

they don't make shit off the channel, youtube generates revenue through ads but that's it. they make theirs through dvd sales. the only way they're going to get more sales (at least a good chunk of sales) is through word of mouth at this point since everyone who wanted a copy already has one.

The operator hasn't been around in months, and almost a year before that last attack on jay.

What about entry #60? That was about three months ago (better than a year anyway).

That's what he was referring to.
Before Entry #60, no attack had happened for a year.

This makes me curious. Do we know how frequently Alex was attacked by the Operator? We have record of a bunch of occasions, but is the timetable clear enough to know if there weren't months-long intervals? And speaking of intervals, wasn't there supposedly a big one between Alex moving and Amy finding that camera?

I'm saying, it's an astute observation that the Operator has seemed absent for a little while, but it's an absence that may not be entirely unprecedented. Also, we have nothing on whether the Operator has had recent interest in Tim.

Malckeor wrote:
Well, you have to remember: For the entire series, people have been reluctant to mention The Operator. This could have something to do with how he screws with memory, but I think it's more because of the fear towards him and his incomprehensible, inhuman nature. The characters know he exists, but they can't comprehend something like TO could exist in our world, so they try to blot him out of their mind and focus more on Hoody and Alex, the more comprehensible villains.

I wouldn't talk about him a lot either. If I was being stalked for years by an inhuman Eldritch Abomination, I wouldn't want the subject to ever come up in conversation.

That's true. In fact, there's a fairly detailed discussion of this issue in its own thread. Normally, like you, I write it off to the sheer horror of the Operator making them hesitate to bring him up. In this entry, though, the silence is deafening; they're standing there talking about what their problems are and how to address them, and they don't even mention the biggest problem they have. It's consistent with the rest of the series, it just isn't how I think I would handle Jay's situation, were I in his shoes.

the second you saw a 5 minute entry with the first 2.5 minutes being absolutely nothing worthwhile, you should have known it was coming

I was actually looking forward to your response. And, while you amuse me, I do kind of agree with you about the entry. I was also a bit disappointed with it. But we'll see how things turn out.

Yes. You seem like just that type of person exactly.

HOLY FILLER

All I could think about from minute 4 on was the aneurysm Pravado was gonna have about this one. With good reason this time. I still realize that this is a labor of love and they owe us nothing, but this was without a doubt the biggest letdown this series has caused me in what, 3 years it's been running? This was a bummer.

I feel like there's an in game reason this meet was posted but I just need to fish it out...

Two things that stuck out to me:

1) The mention of Alex
- Because to me that kinda ties in seasons 1 and 2 to season 3. Season three at times has this stand alone feel, not as connected to the previous seasons as they did to each other. But being reminded of that helps bring it all together.

2) "Someone is probably watching..."
- Honestly with the mention of Alex earlier in the video I kinda wonder if they were mentioning him. If maybe there's something that made them think that he might still be alive.

Personally I'll be surprised if Alex doesn't make an appearance by the end of the series. But its more likely they were alluding to hoody since to them he's malicious as he risked Tim's health to prove his point.

I'm going to rewatch again to see if there's anything. I thought I noticed distortion.

I thought there was a touch of distortion when Jay shut the car door. Struck me as natural distortion, though, not Operator related. I didn't see anything else, but a more thorough search of the background may be warranted.
