So Tim's using disposable cell phones?

This doesn't make any sort of sense to me. Why would Tim be disconnecting his number if he has to be receiving treatment from his doctor? It wouldn't really be convenient for Tim or the doctor if in between working and the "constant doctor visits" if he was changing his number.

Well, keep in mind-- Tim isn't necessarily to be trusted. After all, what did his medical record folder say on it?

"LIAR."

Why would he lie about going to the doctor? Entry #59 was Tim pissed about Jay bringing it all back.
He even says, "Not three months ago whenever you followed me outside my own doctor's office?"
Tim was trying to forget everything before Jay showed up and screwed everything up.

It just does not make sense for him to be calling Tim when he was right there.

For me, that's why it probably wasn't Tim.

Jay's recorded things and sent out messages just in case something happened to him before. It's part of the logic for filming, even. Tim has jumped him while wearing a mask and knocked him around without one, and he doesn't always work alone. Now, instead of calling Jay out to Denny's to discuss their mutual troubles, he calls him out to a dark, secluded lot with plenty of hiding places for stalky, stabby people.

So maybe a call to Alex's old number? "Hey, I know you still watch. If I don't make it back from this, you really should have broken his fucking leg."

I kind of like the idea that Jay's been compulsively calling Jessica's old number every so often, hoping that she's reconnected it. Maybe she's on his mind, especially when he's working on his Operator problems. We know he holds himself responsible for her and that his current plan is to find her or die trying. Maybe we just witnessed one of the little ways he tries to keep hope alive. Maybe he calls her, always hoping that the next time, she'll answer.

Or calling home to thank his folks for ramen and film money, and let them know he's meeting strange men in dark alleys but don't worry, it's for his student film...

Jay was most likely calling Jessica. And whoever said this wasn't filler and that it built up character development, almost everything you said was stuff we already knew or could very easily infer.

Yes, most of the character stuff was already suspected or could have been guessed by a savvy audience. But it was character development nonetheless. The keen analytic skills of a certain outspoken segment of the audience do not determine what parts of the story ought and ought not to be told. If the creators feel that something is important enough to be addressed explicitly, then it is irrelevant that some of the audience was smart enough to guess correctly ahead of time. It's part of telling their story. If you infer correctly, then that's great, but if it means that you're going to be bored while they unfold the narrative for everyone who didn't, then that's just a consequence of the kind of speculation and analysis you get on forums like these. It doesn't make it "filler."

Honestly, I don't understand the frustration. I've watched the series about as closely as anyone, so I had guessed a lot of what was confirmed in this entry. But I couldn't help but be pleased when I got it right. I don't understand the "I already knew that, so how dare you spend time on it" reaction.

I could've sworn that I saw OP two times in this entry, once when jay pans back up by where his car was and once(or twice) when he was looking at the trucks. I could be wrong, hopefully someone will post frames later, but I also got the impression that Jay really didn't want to be where they were. As someone earlier mentioned, maybe he recognized it from one of the TTA videos?

I do love the whole reluctant alliance thing Tim and Jay have going on, and I can totally understand how they each would have problems trusting each other. I kind of like how they don't mention anyone by name(Hoody, OP) or go into great detail, but I do wonder why after three weeks Tim finally decided to meet with Jay and agree to help him. Maybe Hoody went to Tim first, revealed himself and talked him into helping Jay, or maybe it just took that long for Tim to get his normal issues dealt with so he could focus on teaming up with Jay.

Watching season 3 in a marathon fashion, just to see how it really did compare to season 1 and 2, this entry actually fits really well. Especially for someone who didn't check out the twitter I would imagine this was necessary.

For once, I think I agree with you-- he's probably been trying that number in vain for months.

What was with Jay calling the disconnected number? Who was he trying to call?

At first I thought he was calling Tim but that wouldn't make sense.

That's probably who he was calling. Just calling back the number Tim used to call him, finding out that it wasn't connected, probably before he spotted Tim arriving at the meeting point.

So Tim's using disposable cell phones?

Only thing Tim has lied about so far is his claim that Alex and "that thing" made him the way he is, which the medical folder disproves with records indicating that he's been struggling with his issues all his life.

As for Tim's cell phone, he may have simply changed his number in response to the stalker who watches him, enters his house, and takes his medicine. Covering his bases or whatever. There's really no one else Jay would be calling at that point other than Tim, to make sure he was there before actually seeing him.

Which would've been a big deal if the Tim Tapes didn't already reveal this.

Tim's tapes reveal that he "has a history" of this sort of thing, but at the time he was referring to paranoia, sleeplessness, and all that other stuff. Jay even speculated that it eventually lead to Tim going nuts and getting violent, but it wasn't until we saw his medical records that we learned he was having the most serious problems all his life.

Perhaps Tim regards his doctor as a sort of father figure, and that's why he so concerned with contacting him. Hell, it could be that doctor is the only person in the world he confides in.

Oh, and Pravdo: We get it. You don't like this entry. Please let those of us who do discuss it in peace.
Myself, I felt that this entry was valuable for its glimpse into Tim and Jay's heads. Here we have two very damaged young men, wrestling with a problem that they can't even talk about, exept indirectly. They struggle to cooperate despite their mutual distrust, because anything is preferable to facing the darkness alone. This is the stuff of drama; it makes the characters people instead of just monster chow.
Besides, we were due for a breather episode after the tension and suspence of 61 and 62.

I honestly didn't have a problem with this entry at all, just the fact that we're gonna have to wait weeks for the next one.
