SOLVED: Test 6 There's more to that registration e-mail than meets the eye...
I haven't been playing this game because of RiddlePlanet (Strife777 and I won $600! GO TEAM TIMEHUNT!) and I finally got back to looking at this from the beginning, starting with the government form I never filled out.
Cemgate - I'm surprised you didn't see this - read it NoahBoddyPuzzle style - read every first letter of every sentence.
What do you get?
EMBEDDED CODE
Ok, now *that* can't possibly be coincidence. So it officially makes this piece of correspondence my Top Candidate for the identity of Test #6.
I don't have the time tonight (it's 2 AM!) but will you brilliant barcode folk get back on your horses and ride this baby to a solution? =). I donno if L3 would confirm its identity as Test #6 but it's so far the only real Acheron-related puzzle that hasn't been solved.
Good Night.

Assuming this is the right thing (and it appears to be):
http://www.landau-luckman-lake.com/questions.pdf
This is the decode of the PostNET barcode: 80203-1100-99. That is for Denver, CO.

I know naught of which I speak:)
But can that little "data" thing in the upper right of the envelope be decoded using the same method as the AGP Garden of Pears (Data Matrix or sumpin')?

the upperright figure is meant to look like a PDF417 barcode but it's has some elements which are inconsistent with a PDF417. A decoder won't even recognize it as a PDF417. If it's meant to be decoded, it's not meant to be done with a scanner.
So far I've trired binary to ASCII (didn't work). Gonna try converting from binary to other bases to see if that gives anything...
EDIT: binary directly to alphabet --> nothing
binary --> base 10 --> mod26 --> alphabet --> nothing

This test 6 I'm not entirely convinced the envelope is the key to the Embedded Code this thing's talking about.
I need a free day to actually look at this whole thing and see if there's anything else hidden in the rest of that letter.

But would you agree that there is something in the envelope...well not in the envelope....but you know what I mean
Otherwise why include it?

What if the bar code, when placed over one of the paragraphs at the top, reveals a hidden message? I'm sure some of you have seen a code hidden like that before. The bar code might hide specific words and reveal others.
Just a thought..

how about this Haven't been over here in a while so I don't know if anyone picked up on this yet but, if you look at the envelop the normal way the box in the upper right looks like it is 30 digits long by 8 digits high.
With the black as one you have:
111111010010000100001011011011
011101110111101111111001110011
100111101111100111111101000001
110000111000110100000011000001
001011101111100111110111011000
111001101111101111111110000001
110101010000011011000010110000
000110101001111000011010101000
of course it I can't make anything out of it yet.

odd little thing on envelope I have been following the game for a couple weeks now and it seems to be getting mor eand more interesting! I was looking at the envelope and I noticed that under the address there is a faint line if you enlarge the picture it looks almost like a pattern. Don't know if it is anything and feel free to trout me if it has already been noticed. hopefully I put this post in the right place.

The barcode on the envelope appears to be created with the font "Ariel Alternative Symbol". This font set uses symbols consisting of 2x3 blocks to stand for the alphabet (similar but not the same as braille). Not sure if this font is installed by default on windows Me/XP,etc. but if it is you can see it using the Character Map or in MS Word.
For example, in "Ariel Alternative Symbol", the character "a" is:
XO
OO
OX
where the X's are black and O's are white.
In braille "a" is:
XO
OO
OO
The font set "WST_Engl" also uses blocks of 2x3 to stand for some characters but I don't think it's the alphabet characters.
Just thought I throw it out there for everyone...

It appears that the font "Arial Alternative Symbol" is only available on Windows Me and I couldn't find it on the internet.. Can someone who has this font try matching it to the envelope or attach it here so we can play with it?

Arial Alternative Symbol Sorry, I posted this at CD and I didn't post it here.
I'm new to this adventure, but I took grumpyboy's lead and I translated the barcode into Arial Alternative symbol by dividing it up into 10 rows of 4 characters each.
Reading from the left the characters are:
IuF~
gxj{
XswL
O_j
}RFP
h_kV
S^ju
Kovx
Zh m
Op|
(notice the blank character in the last two lines, between h&m and before O)
From the right:
NBA
M Dv
FZ}K
kT~I
zu_D
bxro
nT_A
l}sf
wTFy
^xkS
(blank characters in the first two lines, after A and between M & D)
I don't know what to do with that yet, but thought I'd offer it up.
If you want the font to check my "math" you can download it at:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/win95upg/font_a/1.0/W95/EN-US/mintel.exe
It comes as part of the minitel package. Just execute the file in an empty folder, and it will unpack the contents, one file of which is the Arial Alternative Symbol Font.
I'll also upload the font here.

If you start from the left side of the envelope and invert black<-> you get this:
Looks a bit promising because there aren't any garbage characters.. and you can consider the space, _, and ` to be terminating characters.. if you consider the x to be terminating also you get exactly 26 unique characters.. If you consider capital and small to be the same you get the following distribution
AA
Bb
C
d
FFf
G
Hh
II
Kk
l
Nn
Ooo
Q
r
Ss
TTTt
VV
W
xx

Me and steve just got weird phonecalls that had the same message for us. The message is attached to this thread. I think it has something to do with set 6 for the pre-Acheron party.
EDIT: Also, the ring on the voicemail message sounds strikingly familiar to the phone ringing sounds from the end of Acheron trailer #1. That file was recorded and attached as well.
