It was the longest running mystery in the series.

I was treating the posting of it as some great closure.

I was jokin' around, little dude.

I think when people start getting purple EMH wristbands in the mail,is the point when it might be over.

Wristbands...or little bits of the main characters Sad

Has anyone written any erotic fiction about EMH once?

Just wondering.

Having been around since early in the original EMH thread: Oh, my, yes. Many people, many times, in every permutation you can think of.

I suppose I can't avoid it much longer.
Haven't bothered to read the other posts because I'm a jerk that way, but gonna throw my thoughts out there anyways. I am sure you all brought this stuff up already.

1.) I do generally believe Jeff is dead. I can't really see why he wouldn't be, and to be fair, HABIT may be selective about the info he gives us but he hasn't yet lied.
2.) I am still firmly in the "that was not the real Corenthal" camp, and this video did supply a little extra support in my mind. If HABIT wanted to keep Vince from finding Jeff, and also keep him from contacting widow Corenthal, what better way than to impersonate Corenthal to distract him? HABIT does mention the fact that Vince is with the doctor. I suppose you could argue that HABs was just keeping up with the videos, but that timing seems really convenient, doesn't it?
3.) I am really wondering about the instructions James left for Maryann. If he left her such important instructions, why did she so adamantly turn Jeff away when he found her two years ago?
4.) This is a really nitpicky thing, but the Candleverse: In the hidden video where the three are talking in the "staging area" between iterations, Jeff is wearing something semi-formal? Kinda? Either way, it's not what he was wearing in ": D". It's a small detail but maybe it will mean something at some point. (I don't know why but I kept expecting to see Jeff wearing those clothes when he died. Perhaps that video was reflecting the previous deaths? I don't know. Trees.)
5.) HABIT's Everyman annotations said the Guardian would fight to lose all that he loved. Jeff was pretty apathetic for the last year, and he didn't exactly do... much... until the brain event that reminded he and Vince about Widow C. I suppose the "fuck you" was defying a God, but it feels... interesting. Dunno.
6.) Last bit. Ouroborus (this is his idea) suggested to me that perhaps Vinny is not the Voyeur, but Everyman (Vinny Everyman right), and that we ourselves are the Voyeur. He and I went back and forth on it, for example Jeff's last-ish words to Vin were calling himself an Everyman, and Vince did film himself in "The Property", and on the other hand Jeff's pleas to "stop watching us", etc. If this is the case? I don't know, it fits pretty damn well. The idea of Everyman is that Everyman goes on a journey to, frankly, die, and meets these different archetypes/friends who aide him to a happier ending. So this theory is very interesting, and not impossible.

Okay enough for now.

There's a decent amount of shameful, embarrassing EMH erotica out there. This entry will only speed that plow along further, surely. My favorite logline for EMH Year 3 I saw somewhere was "Jeff and Evan Take Their Shirts Off"

I expect "this" Jeff is dead, but I'm not sure what that even means. HABIT explicitly says the big guy can't break him, and I assume that goes for Vinnie as well as Jeff, Steph and Corenthal. Maybe that means HABIT has to. But even that seems transitory to me. He's determined to demoralize Jeff before mutilating him, and one wonders why.

As to transitory. I've made David Lynch comparisons before, but it does remind me a bit of Twin Peaks and its subsequent film, Fire Walk With Me. Without spoiling too much, the murder victim in that show (Laura Palmer, whose murder the show hinges upon) dies in that series, but is ultimately shown to have been spiritually salvaged in a certain way, living on in a kind of limbo before finally, seemingly ascending to a higher plane. I sort of got the sense that that was going to happen here to Jeff no matter what - whatever HABIT does to him, he's just going to end up back in the Candleverse or wherever. So ultimately, maybe HABIT's just working out his aggressions. It's a lot of bluster from someone who must, on some level, know that there are other iterations of these people out there. I didn't get the sense that this would be the last we'd ever see of Jeff's face, and I only got the same elegiac, mystical sense I get from a lot of the big scenes lately - that this too shall pass, into deliverance.

I am a bit curious on the timeline, and I apologize if I am treading old post ground. Jeff looks relatively non-worse for wear in this entry, but Vinnie found blood and shackles at Evan's, like Jeff had been worked over. His back had been carved into in that twitpic, and his eyes appeared to have been got at in some way. Could the picture have been taken after this footage?

Oh, and I do think that was the real Corenthal. Does it fit with the Corenthal of the prose, not much, no. But maybe there's an explanation.

I think I'm with you on most of that.
I have nothing as far as the timeline. I suppose Jeff was holding his side, so I took that to be indicative of the previous lovefest. HABIT could have just made everything superficial in the first go as sort of showmanship to Vince. While I can't think of why exactly HABIT wanted to kill Jeff (perhaps Jeff had the power to get in the way, as per previous iterations?), I do believe that he is making sure Vince knows he did.
The Twin Peaks connection also fits well with the actual Everyman literature, based on what you just described. (Yup. Still haven't watched Twin Peaks.)
As for Corenthal, idunno maybe you're right. I could just be acting on a case of I Don't Want to Believe.
Also, cameraman = Nick?

...Go on?

(Somehow I knew the word "permutation" would appear.)

Man, what happened to Evan?

He was once a fun-loving guy using situational humor to keep the group's heads together, and now he's a murderous psychopath.

Does getting nearly killed by the Slenderman usually do that to people?

No, but getting possessed by HABIT does.
