Are you trying not to get this because you think it's cool, or something? It's Totheark's entire freaking motive. He named himself after it.

And? It can't be a metaphor? The MacGuffinism of a physical "ark" is such lazy storytelling that I will be sorely disappointed if it is some physical thing rather than an ideal or a metaphor for the general solution in whatever form it appears.

Bottom line: there is no evidence of the ark's existence beyond a few cryptic references in a channel known for cryptic references that beat around the bush rather than being direct, and no evidence at all for the ark's nature. It is only logical then to assume that, until direct reference is made in a more substantive way, that the ark is simply more crypticism from our mutual friend. It's nature is entirely speculation with no foundation in fact.

It can, but you're also heavily implying that it's irrelevant. Which is nonsense.

It could also about equally likely be a place, which is why your interpretation is so biased that it is making me dizzy.

I mean, calling the possibility "lazy storytelling" is pretty much the King of Cop Outs.

Right now there is no evidence that the eponymous "ark" is metaphorical or physical.

It only exists in cryptic messages by totheark. Nothing has ever been evidenced in the narrative that "the ark" is anything at all.

There's no evidence that it's anything in particular, yet, but the term has been used so often that there's plenty of evidence that whoever is posting the TTA videos believes that it exists. Even if TTA invented the term "ark" as a ruse or deception, then that still counts as something. The key is that the character who appears to know the most keeps bringing it up. That's evidence that it's important. Physical? Maybe. Metaphorical? Maybe. Supernatural? Maybe. Lie? Maybe. Significant? Almost certainly.

Hello all, been lurking something rotten for a longer amount of time than I'm willing to admit to...

Actually enjoyed the entry - series 1 vibe is always a winner. Despite freaking out at Timasky vine-fondling, what I found most terrifying was something that paladin181 raised earlier; Hoody (or someone else) is definitely in the immediate vicinity when Jay wakes up. It's odd that we don't hear whoever it is walking away from the camera after they turn it on, that floor looks like it would easily impart a -10 to move silently checks.

I have no idea what this means. Fuck it, maybe creepy doll did it.

That's a reasonable interpretation, but it's not the only possible explanation. The camera could have been set to begin filming on a timer. It could have been activated by remote. It could have been filming for some time prior to what we see, with the uneventful footage edited out. Any footsteps might have been masked by the distortion. And so on.

I have a pet theory that posits a supernatural suppression; i.e., whatever force knocked out Jay and Tim (or kept them unconscious) also knocked out the camera, and it released all three at the same time, which is why they all "wake up" within moments of one another. We already know that whatever the Operator does to people can also mess with video equipment, and here the camera turns back on with a burst of Operator-style distortion (5:35ish). For that matter, distortion also builds until the camera turns off; it's possible that Hoody didn't turn off the camera (conventionally), rather, the supernatural interference might have done it while Hoody was picking it up.

Anyway, we don't have any concrete indication that Hoody was even at the Hut at all when they woke up. Maybe he was there in stalker mode, but it's not so certain. We just don't know what went on that night, and I'm beginning to think that we never will.

Maybe the "ark" isn't so much a person or a place, but an idea. Like, maybe it only exists in the trees and the butterflies or something gay like that.

Perhaps the Ark is where the Operator takes his victims?
