StirCrazy at Woodfield mall is one of my favorite places in the area. A friend of mine (Andrew) works there. It is a make-your-own stirfry restaurant, but there are also plenty of good menu items. My personal favorite is the Thai coconut curry soup. The portions are not GINORMOUS, but I always take leftovers home.

What is the cost of the food there?

Actually its the address for the movie theater too, and since the other 3 locations are movie theaters I am going to go with the theater.

Sounds good to me.

Seeing as how 53/Higgins/290/Golf all converge at a major shopping area there, I would not assume that inbound is going to be any less painful than outbound. How far west are you coming from, if I may ask? Dekalb/Rockford? Further?

I think we really need to nail down a place to meet up either BEFORE and/or AFTER. I can't do after I have work in the morning, but before might be cool.

Suggestions include:
Gameworks
Stir Crazy
Starbucks

Those are all within 20 feet of the movie theater.

Hi everyone, I'm new to this community, but I've been actively following ILB for a while, as I was somewhat involved in The Beast back in the day. I heard about the meetups, and looked up the locations to find that there was a meetup in my home city!
I signed up already, and I also needed a ride, so I enlisted a friend of mine to come along too- he doesn't follow ILB, but he's a big Halo fan... I'm pretty sure the list is still open, because I got the email confirming his entry today.
I'll see you guys there Smile

spreadsheet of attendees is now a database in beta testing

Pardon this interruption by an outsider... Leftbrained and catherwood have set up a database and interface for tracking who will be attending which training event. Please take a look at the pages and see if it will be of any use to your group:
Combat Database
If you have further text to add to the description of the location (including rendezvous details for before/after the event), you can send it to my private message box here. Feel free to add yourself to the database -- no password is required if you don't wish to have edit access later.
[The edit feature should be working now; i'll be updated any notices on the site that say otherwise.]

What is the cost of the food there?

(my best recollection)

Veggie Stirfry: $6.95
Chicken Stirfry: $7.95

I know that shrimp is more, but I'm not sure about beef.

the menu items are about the same, $6 - $12.

The 50th million question by me

What is the cost of the tri-state toll road that I have to take to get there, yet another budget factor.

Varies, $.30 to $.50 per toll booth, so it depends what direction you are coming from becuase that determines how many toll booths. If you are coming from the south, I think there are three or four. For budgeting purposes, if you are not getting on any other toll roads (I-88, I-355), $2.50 each way should be a safe, conservative budget.

If you are coming from the West, you will likely be taking 88 to 355 to 290/53. Expect delays (yes, even inboud) at the 355 junction, and 355 will be busy (but not unbearable) in both directions. Use the I-59 exit on 88 as your checkpoint; you should easily be able to make it to the event from there in an hour, even in rush hour. If you pass the I-59 exit with less than an hour to spare, and there is heavy traffic, you might have trouble.
