Kind of following this one, sort of trying to get back into ARGs, so we'll see if I can contribute to this. Hello everyone! Very interesting so far.

Couldn't resist
Puppetting the puppetmasters just a bit

I am about to send the PMs a little puzzle of my own via email. It shouldn't be very hard for them to crack. We'll see. Hopefully it doesn't end up in their spam folder due to the way I am writing it because if they crack the puzzle and respond then it will possibly give us some information (only if they choose to give it to us).

Hey Zobot!

Also, Hawthorne...I don't think the PM will respond. ARGs don't usually work that way...at least not this kind, so far it's been low-interactivity. Worth a shot, but I doubt you'll get anything back. Just ask a direct question. (i for one want to know who the person running the site is and how he has access to these events before they happen, ect.)

Which brings up...did we ever find out how the family died? We have a lot info overall, but nothing really solid on any one front, it's really spread out. We should set up an irc and go theory crazy XD

Yeah we do know how the family died. According to Brandon they were hit by a drunk driver. If you meant that we don't know anything more specific, you are right. We don't. We don't know for sure that Brandon is telling the truth either. We do have a lot of spread out info over a broad range of topics. The most developed part of the story is that of Peter and Brandon.

As for your thing about the mythology, what specifically pointed you towards Welsh mythology and not another of the possibilities?

The mention of if someone wants to read up on Welsh? Just because I'm more inclined to research Irish, and it would save some work for me.

If you mean about the Celtic mythology in general, then it's because of the constant use of symbols/names/ect from those mythologies combined with a hunch. XD

Response to my email
ASDFGHJKL GAH this is wonderful

OK. So, I sent the puzzle to the email I found. Its subject line was in hex, the first line was in ascii, and the main body was in binary. It asked "What is The Sisyphus Event?" and asked for an answer to the riddle we were given at the beginning of all this (the king and the birds). The translation of the subject line and the first line were both rotated and the main body was a cryptogram when translated. I got a response to this puzzle. The owner of this email adress is none other than THE Brandon Rhea. Here is what he said:

Dear random email person (I think maybe we follow each other on twitter),

Um... Thanks for writing I guess... Not quite sure what's going on with this. I was about to write this off as spam, but then I noticed your name at the top... I'm pretty sure I recognize it from twitter... Thanks for the follow, btw. I think maybe you got hacked. Looks like a bunch of binary to me, but I have no idea what its trying to say... Also, I'm not sure how you managed to get my email. Anyway, I would reset my passwords if I were you, it really does seem like you got hacked...

-Bran

OH MY GOD. So, this could mean many things. I got this email adress in a manner that leads me to believe that the owner of the email runs the website. (It doesn't just lead me to believe it. It pretty much proves it.) This would mean that our Brandon runs thesisyphusevent.com. WHAT? Question answered, ohwhatprovidence. Somehow Brandon is more powerful than we thought.

EDIT: It would appear the PMs figured out how I got the email adress and covered their asses. I guess I can share that info now since they know already. I found the email by poking around the source code of the homepage. I got frustrated by its unnecessary complexity and decided to go to wix.com where they made the page. I looked around for awhile and then realized that the only way I would get any sort of peek into how they write their HTML would be to have an account of my own. I hit the login/register button and the login prompt appeared. This gave me pause and I entered the email I found through my previous whois search and tried the password "sisyphusevent" not expecting it to work. Well, it didn't work, BUT it did tell me that the email was not registered to an account. This let me know that if I put in an email that WAS registered to an account I would know. I tried several variations of the original email to no avail. Then I tried "sisyphusevent@gmail.com" that didn't work, but I felt that I was close. I added a "the" to the beginning and BINGO the error message went away and a new one appeared telling me that the password was wrong. Well, duh it was wrong. I hadn't tried very hard in the first place. I entered a few obvious guesses at the password and then gave up because the password really could have been anything. I just went back to wix.com a few minutes ago and entered the email in the login box again. This time the error message appeared with what had previously been the correct email. It would appear the site is now registered to a different email. Anything it was previously connected to is probably likewise transferred to a new email.

A little more Googling pulled up the fact that the Boise State University chapter of Sigma Chi Beta uses something called the Sisyphus Event as a "non-ritual pledge activity". This is probably completely unrelated, but I wasn't aware that anybody had ever used the phrase Sisyphus Event before. I also found this https://www.iafe.org/html/SisyphusEvent3-4-08.php I didn't know that people already called things a Sisyphus Event. What do these people mean with this phrase?

New link on the website!
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It leads to an art blog and I assume the owner of the blog is Brandon's friend E (the girl who was singing by herself in the classes).

About the ogham word
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I got 'lerche', but I don't know if it's right and I haven't figured out what it means.

Hmmm. This looks like a departure from the Irish words from before, but:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
lerche is german for lark.

I think this makes E the lark in our story.

There's a new, two page document titled "Alan Wright 2003" at http://www.thesisyphusevent.com/#!464b/c1p8x (full link not working-sorry) "Verum" is latin for true.

Hmm... Verum really seemed to believe Stephanie was in the room with him, but she proved she was out of state at the time...
Could our featureless humanoids be shapeshifters of some sort?
Also, unless Brandon is a ruthless murderer, he probably isn't our Fisher King (FK). But with all the mocking and possible impersonation, who knows.
Finally, just noticed that c1p8x is base 64 for sZ if that means anything to anyone.
