PROXY: A Slenderman Story (short film)
Free on youtube!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ALb5jhhLkns

It's promoted by Bloody Disgusting. An hour long, and I'm starting to watch it now. I can write up some impressions after I see it, but I figured I'd share the wealth. Tis the season, after all.

edit: Ok, apparently it's more of an extended preview headed up by the creators. Still going to watch through it.

Edit 2: Okay, after watching most of this, it seems like just the same 10 minute chunk they're showing over and over again, interspersed with commentary and what not. The real content first plays from about 6:40 to 15:10 or so.

All in all, it's a promising little teaser that seems intentionally designed or edited to get the most scares and Slender Man appearances out of it's runtime. It works great as a short film on it's own, but if this is part of a larger project I really look forward to it. Their Slender Man effect is top notch, and they have some really good appearances. I won't spoil what little is there, but give it a watch folks.

I watched this when it was live, and I have to say, I really liked it. Not only did the slenderman look good, but the editing and effects were also great. I can't wait to see the whole thing. My only issue with it is that they used sound effects from slender a good like. However, as Adam Rosner said, that is what new slenderfans identify with.

Yeah, the Slender sound was a bit much at times. I love it too because it's not first person. Thank God. I love found footage, and I understand why it's done, but it's refreshing to see an omniscient perspective and non-diegetic music.

That was... surprisingly good. It's nice to see that not all Slender Man videos have to be in first person to be decent. The effects were really well done, too.

Well that was pretty epic. I guess BAMMO helped out? No wonder the effects were great.

Well-That was really fucking good. Shows what happens when you spend a little bit of money on something.

Bravo.. I like that it takes a few twists on the Slenderman mythos but incorporates some of the basics...

Is it only 10 minutes and thats the end-or should we expect more?

Nimbus mentioned this video on an analysis of post-advent Slenderverse.
An absolutely brilliant mix of old mythos and new mythos.

The car scene is inspired yet wonderfully pulled off, and that bit where he's hidden in the trees and his arms just creak down - holy shit. That is just going back to the absolute, Surge-esque roots of the mythos, great big tall guy hidden in the trees.
Seeing that vision finally transferred to video with a proper budget was both terrifying, and a beautiful thing. Glad to see some people new to the mythos still understand the Slender Man and what he is meant to signify.

And THAT, is why I love this film so much.
