Yeah, best Slender Man appearance in a long long time. Everything about it was great. Moving, stalking, huge size, teleportation and ACTUAL FUCKING VIOLENCE! Amazing stuff. Dark Harvest just shot back up my favorites list.

Love the fact that they're still using the Slender Man walk from the elementary school video. Unnatural movement like that fits Slendy really well and is also sort of reminiscent of those pictures of him walking around on tentacles from the early days of the mythos. I guess this video also raises some questions about my_final_betrayal, due to the long-standing theory associated with it, as well as the whole "second/third chosen one" ordeal.

I just saw the new video on the Tribe Twelve thread. I'm now shaking uncontrollably, both from fear and just...THAT SLENDY APPEARANCE!

This was the first DH video I've seen. Looks like it's finally time for me to watch it from the beginning. I've been putting it off, but...that Slendy appearance...

I have a weird question, what ever happened to Kind Von Der Ritter? Has that ever been touched on since they stopped posting videos to that account?

I really hope they haven't abandoned him, plot-wise. He seemed to be offering to help the guys, giving them clues and so forth.

Anyway, this episode was really, really fantastically done. Usually I never find Slendy scary, but this had me cringing in my seat. And those horrible gurgling noises Greg was making...

And that conversation....

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Jessie: You can't quit! You're the Second Chosen One!!
Greg: I thought the Second Chosen One is sacrificed!
Jessie: Did I say Second Chosen One? I totally meant Third! Not Second, Third!
Greg: I want out of this cult RIGHT NOW.

Holyshitholyshit that freaked me out and then when we see Slendy standing there and
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Greg is apparently choking on his own blood because Slendy just disemboweled him
OH GOD I DON'T WANT TO BE ALONE TODAY.

So...yeah. Good job on this one.

Their Slendy effects are getting better and better. I love the way they make him move. The fact that his appearance reads as something human-like but his movements don't is super creepy.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The part where Slender Man teleported through the door was brilliant. I enjoyed the screeching/ crashing noise during that bit, it was really unsettling.

Now Im sad Greg hasn't been a bigger part of the series...he's one of the few characters that has common sense...or at least his way of addressing these things is very simplistic...and kind of funny:

What happened to you trusting me?!
Well now I'm in a cult apparently...

I wonder about the "confusion" about the 2nd and 3rd chosen one...did this death count as that? Was he being sacrificed, or instantly being punished for vocalizing his desire to get out?

Holy shit, that Slenderman was SCARY AS FUCK. That was simply amazing! Let me tell you guys, I really appreciate what the Dark Harvest folks are doing with plotting. The cult provides an excellent plot vehicle that manages to be engaging and a little scary, even in entries sans Slenderman. It allows them to not have Slenderman play a major role in EVERY entry. but when he does show up...man, Dark Harvest has progressed so far from that fat pilgrim snowman.

So hard to decide which video is DH's magnum opus... too many to choose from. I like how mad Greg was at Jesse, perhaps a little too meta Wink

For me it's a three-way tie between Log #1, Log #11, and the two parter Log #14.

The seamless shooting of 14 is amazing and it's a great storytelling method, really had me on the edge of my seat.

1 is subtle and atmospheric. Too many of the vlogs beat you over the head with danger, sightings, and contrived suspense; Dark Harvest made a conscious decision to actually make a good vlog (and from the start no less).

The thrilling chase and teleportation/distortion used in 11 makes it the most exciting -- if not scariest -- video in the series.

I hope so too.
