They are playing with 3 decks:

thereis a series of cards on the table, with some dice on top.

on the table next to it, a 5/4 is set.

The cards are from left to right: (images attached to this post)

Chandra's fury with a dice value 2 on top
shattered angel with a dice value 4 on top
sleeper guile with a dice value 1 on top
turned over card with a dice value 3 on top

Underneath that a torn card this card is modified, and shows a red 5/4 on the bottom, same as on the table. its a MtG token card.. a similar image attached.

The card is called spirit, its a creature card, marked with a crown.
The example is one in blue, the one in the video is green.

Too bad the overturned card never got turned over to reveal what it was.

so, do the dice indicate the order of things? and why is the spirit torn?

And what about the 5/4??

Do you guys have a clue?

i think we need to try and determine what the number 3 unturned card was...

HOWEVER there must be a reason he did not turn the card..

instinct would tell you to turn it but he didn't, so he must have not turned it for a reason

i mean its natural human instinct to turn it
i would have done so without thinking
so it must have required thought to NOT turn it
and you can tell this because he said something like face down
showing he was thinking about not turning it otherwise his instinct would have just turned it without thinking


perhaps the other cards are not relevant
perhaps its just the 5/4 thats relevant
and that is the card that is ripped
and says spirit

I think his brother is trying to tell him that he is now a spirit, What if the brother is actually trying to warn him from something that will harm greg in his sleep, Like the brother trying to tell greg that he will protect him, From whatever is chasing greg in his sleep.

Perhaps the brother was chased in his sleep and was killed or died as a result and does not want greg to suffer the same fate.

Did some more research on the decks used, and none of the cards in those decks are 5/4 so the card that Renna mentioned could very well be the card that is meant.. uploaded it to this post for completeness..

I'm inclined to agree with mrshomersimpson ... the last card being face-down must be relevant as-is, because if it wasn't, it would be face-up like the other cards. (And there wouldn't have to be magic marker covering the front.) There are words on the back of the card, so it's not like having it be face-down requires us to guess the last card in the sequence -- it could still be a word or letter cipher of some sort.

I've gone over the 5/4 creatures (all 69 of them) and I don't see anything that obviously is related. There are 4 Spirits that are 5/4: Demigod of Revenge, Gutwrencher Oni, Painwracker Oni, and the aforementioned Patron of the Moon.

So far my attempts to match the die numbers to various words on the cards has failed to produce anything that makes sense ... but I'll keep thinking on it this evening. Probably watch the video a couple more times too.

I keep going back to the words of each card. If you take the second word of Chandra's Fury etc you get "fury whenever sleeper's gathering." I am inclined to think at least that the word "sleeper's" is relevant. Sleeper's Guile isn't exactly the kind of card that you'd actually play. Ha.

There are no 5/4 tokens in Magic.

I've looked at the sets to see if its trying to get us to look X cards forward or backwards, doesn't seem to have relevance. Anything to do with game mechanics (ie, mana cost, card type) or things off the game text (illustrator, etc) seem to be rules out by the card back at the end.

Similarly, I don't think them referencing the types of decks at the beginning are relevant either. And the cards in the puzzle are unsleeved, while the decks appear to be sleeved. (The cards in the blue 5/4, for example.)

Just kinda going extemporaneous here, hoping something clicks.

Hi, y'all! Just catching up on all of this...

Are the cards representative of the characters? Brittany, the girl who was dumped was [based on Matt's responses] claiming to be stalked -- maybe that wasn't Matt, but the same spirit/The Ferret? Thinking "Shattered Angel" could be a heartbroken ex.

I will keep thinking about those numbers, but maybe we could push Greg to seek her out and see if she's still around or missing, too.
