Me and steve just got weird phonecalls that had the same message for us. The message is attached to this thread. I think it has something to do with set 6 for the pre-Acheron party.
EDIT: Also, the ring on the voicemail message sounds strikingly familiar to the phone ringing sounds from the end of Acheron trailer #1. That file was recorded and attached as well.
Morse code.. Similar tones, so probably something like SOS or CQD.

This, combined with the mysterious phone call, got us a solve for set 6. Take the string of numbers, break into pieces with 5 numbers in each (11111 10110, etc.) and you get a slightly different string of numbers.
11111 10100 10000 10000 10110 11011
01110 11101 11101 11111 10011 10011
10011 11011 11100 11111 11010 00001
11000 01110 00110 10000 00110 00001
00101 11011 11100 11111 01110 11000
11100 11011 11101 11111 11100 00001
11010 10100 00011 01100 00101 10000
00011 01010 01111 00001 10101 01000
Which, when translated with Baudot code, give you the solve.

I already emailed her, making me the official ARG Chick Pimp. (Remember me, Barbie Mills?)
Huge thanks to Lazarus Long for the help on this one.

Thanks all around Well thank Acheron that damn 6th test has been solved. Finally. Well done jamesi and vpisteve.
I really want to thank Cemgate for posting the solution at CD. It can be a little tricky finding your way around there. You did a great job Cemgate. I wouldn't have known about the solve so soon if you hadn't done that. So thanks again.

I really can't take any credit for this solve. The extent of my involvement was more like, "yeah, that sounds like the same phone call I got."
Props to Jamesi and the nudge in the right direction by LazarusLong.

Well, that explains why I kept getting dumped into the search page and then finding some girl at Stanford.
Instead, we find a posting from Jake's wife.

What, no love for the new guy? j/k
What I want to know is where you guys(gals) find all of this stuff? I have never heard of Baudot code before. I've read all of the stuff in unforums "gamers handbook" are there other places like that were I can learn more?
Another thing, why the two different forums, CD and here? Why doesn't everyone just pool their resourse at one or the other?
Thanx,
T

If you go over this thread from the beginning, you'll see a sort of path leading to the solve... we figured the envelope contained hidden code all along.. the squares were either black or white.. on or off.. 0 or 1.. what was vague was how the 0's and 1's were arranged.. side ways? you might see that we even got sidetracked... but the call was a direct hint.. if you listened to the mp3 you get something that sounds like Morse Code.. 5 beeps following each other.. so obviosly we need to seperate the long 0/1 sequence into 5 bits each... if you have any idea what telex is you'll identify the code immediatly.. if not, google is always your best friend.. Go ahead and search for "5 bit" code .. and there it is right in your face "Baudot code"
And regarding the two different forums.. well I can't help you there.. I totally agree with you and hate the fact that I have to go back and forth because usually there are different specs here and there.. okay the big stuff always gets posted on both sites with a reference saying "so and so at UF posted this!" or "someone at CD solved that" .. but at the end of the day I'm the kind of person who wants to read EVERY SINGLE post.. no matter how irrelevant someone's ramblings might be... and that means I have to go to two sites.. it gets worse with things like Teleport where they have their own forums too...

If there's anything I'm exceptional at, it's typos. Thanks for the correct URL.

I've been around to see why this split happened, and here's what I personally know:
There was a time when CD was a pay-to-view forum, where you had to pay a membership fee to see the posts. From what I understand it's been changed since I was a member, to a free-to-view site, but I don't know when that changed exactly. UF has always been free. My speculation is that some people who couldn't afford CD at the time it was pay-to-view got their information at UF, and I guess they've just made it habit to post at UF. Of course, this is only speculation.
UF and CD have different ways to look at posts. People like different formats, some liking UF's style and some liking CD's style.
Some people have built relationships with others in this little slice of Alternate Reality. While some relationships span across both forums/communities, many do not. Whatever the reason is, some people stay on one side of the fence.
Without getting into specifics, there have been disagreements and accusations made between members of each group, myself included. It's sad but true that there are going to be situations where people don't agree, and since there are two individual groups, sometimes it's just easier to stay clear of the people who rub you the wrong way. That's vague, I know, but for good reason.
That being said, I can imagine how much it sucks having to go back and forth between two groups. Alas, I have no solution for you. I'm just offering some information as to why it is that two groups exist.

No, CD is still not free; non-members can access a limited number of posts anyway. UF was around before CD, both have inherited survivors of cloudmakers, jawbreakers, argn.com and so forth. Beyond that it gets way too complicated.

Ah, that's my kind of assist. Congratulations then to Laz for his part in solving 6th test.
