Following on MrsHomerSimpson leaving, I am stepping out as well..

the PM has violated the TOS of unf several times, and keeps ignoring them while he runs a poor game.

there is a fine line between using information that is given in game to the pm, and stalking, and this pm has clearly been stalking us players..

if we then get warnings that we could be attacked while he uses this personal information, then he goes one step too far in the field of ethical pm-ship

Upon writing an email, explaining the situation where I asked to be careful with this approach, I got an email in return where he was rude at the least, instead of considerate.. learning that he was not just rude to me, but also to others, I made the decision to no longer play this game..

having said that.. I am out..

Personally I hope that you guys will follow, but that is up to you..

I have to agree. Personally his methods themselves didn't bother me (though maybe I'd feel differently if he'd targeted me? Beats me.). But if he was asked repeatedly to stop, and not only refused but was rather rude about it, then that is completely unacceptable. To be honest, even if he had acquiesced, that wouldn't be enough; considering the serious nature of his activity consent from each player individually beforehand should be necessary. No player should be faced with this sort of thing without their explicit consent.

At any rate, I am done here as well. I can't continue to support the PM in light of the deplorable way he's treated his players. Hopefully we can all learn something from this. Especially the PM; I truly hope he'll treat his players with a great deal more respect if he runs any games in the future.

No PM can dictate what is and what is not discussed/posted on uF about his/her game.

We at uF do not censure or lock threads when a game dies or players request that. If a PM posts in their own thread and we can identify it, board Admins can delete the account & ban that IP.

You all have figured it out. The best method for a poorly written/done game is to stop playing and ignore the PM.

Sounds like another case of a rookie PM who wants to "break the mold" and "push the boundries" and blah blah blah. A warning of harrassment by a character does not make the PM any less liable for his/her actions.

The PM did indeed push things too far, and there have been a number of complaints. As Kona said, we limit our involvement. We aren't the ARG Police - we simply police the content here at UF. UF is, was, and always will be a safe haven out of game. The PM decided to break the rules here multiple times multiple ways.

The relationship between a PM and a Player is one of TRUST. We, the players, TRUST the PM with information about ourselves, and to not lead us into an environment that is unsafe.

While we can't dictate if you do or do not continue to play this game, the best thing we can all do as a community is shun this "game" - and maybe the PM will learn a lesson. Keep in mind, that usually isn't the case however, usually the PM decides we are all fuddy-duddies, living in an ice age, afraid of change, and holding on to archaic ideas about boundries. Frankly, I'd rather be a fuddy duddy than feel unsafe playing a game.
