What happened to Alex?

Sorry if this sounds stupid. I have watched all the entries but a great deal of time has passed since I saw Alex, and I can't remember why he's not around any more. Was it that Jay stopped contact because he didn't trust him or did he "disappear" or something?

Well he was theoretically "dead" until Entry 64 happened, though he still has not appeared on screen all season. So, who knows where he is?

In short, the last time before he was seen by Jay was during the events of Entry #52, which chronologically took place before Entry #27. In real time, he (and the Operator, I have to add) had been gone since 52, and only in Entry #60 did the Operator (and I'm guessing Alex; it's my theory that the footsteps he heard in Entry #60 were Alex's) return.

Jay cut off contact with Alex after his realization at the end of Entry #52, where he states that Alex is untrustworthy. I mean, he killed someone, threatened Jay and Jessica with a gun, and then (possibly) made the Operator attack Jay/Tim in Entries 60 and 64. He's dangerous.

It's possible he wasn't actually alive in Entry #64, and someone just sampled his voice. All he says over the phone is "Leave. Now." which could have been spliced together from almost any conversations of him on tape.

Honestly, that just seems too complex for something that ought to be simple. They clarified from visiting the shack at the beginning of Entry #64 that the bullet from Entry #52 didn't kill anybody, so it just seems more likely that Alex is alive, and that THAT was him. Razz

True, but the shed is full of those small holes. Just watch again and you can see daylight poking through all over the place! Alex is probably still alive, but I'm keeping an open mind. Dead Alex would be an awesome twist, especially if we have clues like this to go on Smile

I see what you mean. Smile

Personally, I don't want Alex to be dead; I think he's the only confirmed antagonist in the entire series besides the Operator himself. Totheark's intentions seem more positive towards Jay, despite their methods. And a character that loses his mind and then threatens to kill the protagonist with a gun, breaks a guy's leg, and ALSO KILLS A GUY WITH A ROCK OH GOD, just seems like a great thing to play with. I don't get why they'd kill something like that off, besides for a cheap twist.

[OOG] Perhaps Joseph doesn't have time / intrest to be in the entries any more?

Normally I'm not one to discourage discussion on a topic (I'll usually just say to take it to a more appropriate thread), but given that 65 was just released, I'd recommend we all just bide our time and wait to see if more information is forthcoming soon.

Seems a bit premature to speculate, especially considering Alex has just come back into the plot with 64.

IIRC Troy has said he and Joseph have more time than Tim to work on videos. Joseph is one of the directors, so it'd be a little concerning if he was losing interest. Alex is just being left out for now for dramatic reasons. Also perhaps to keep with the theme: Alex has never actually appeared in any entries set in present day.

I never realized that until you said it, but you're right. Alex has never been in a present day entry. Unless you count 26...

The tape was shot 2 weeks before Jay uploaded it though.

Though as I say that I realize some present day entries this season have had longer wait times.
