I was thinking about that, Sunny. But I think that "surge", "grope", etc. are "tools", and you can only execute a command given to you by a particular tool; moreover, I think that the only tool the Flea has is "grope", and thus he can only do things like !probe, !transmit, !decrypt, and, of course, !attach.

does anyone think this might need to be something we need to solve before sunday? I have this bad feeling that sunday's event might not actually be a good thing, and we need to make sure we've got the princess back to help...

Confused

Sure. I think Sunday is Melissa's day to return to the future, and the Princess has to be ready if she wants to go, too.

All very good ideas; don't wait for approval from the forum - if you think you have an idea, send it to the flea.

Those of you whose commands have been tried by the Flea: what format did you use (subject header and body)? I want to make sure I'm sending them properly..

Suddenly I'm laughing at the irony, we're making a real SPDRv5.14.77!

- he found her, but it's password protected... which has already been discussed, and the password's been found... posting this in case it helps someone... (which it won't)

The flea will probably ignore any dumb suggestions. It's ignoring small-talk, too, I think. It simply wants to know the next command to do.

Here's a list of SPDR commands that might work with the flea:

A >> B: appends data from stream A to the end of stream B
A > B: routes data from sream A to stream B
A | B: sends the result from program A to program B
!: the command prompt
A:: declares the currently active utility as A
mat X: determines the material of the memory storage at X (defaults to current memory location)
bkp X: execute command X from backed-up data
init X: initialize process space or process X
sec X: designates the code/data at X to be secure
proc X: identifies X as a process, a chunk of executable code
restore X: restore code/data X (May require existing backup?)
deploy: extract embedded tools
attach: attaches to an incoming datastream
act: use the current connection to process the next action
drop: drop the current connection
extern X: external process X, code that is running outside of the primary sector
probe X: examine the data and structure of X
triage X: try to repair process X.
diag X: diagnose status of the memory space X
dsc X: discard the object X
A recurse: continue processing command A until the datastream ends
cmd proc X: describes X as a 'command' process
store: describes storage process
invntry X: displays the inventory of the memory space or process space X
analyze X: performs an indepth analysis of material X
X extend Y: extend process X into medium Y
kindle X: initiate autonomous program X

it looks like fleaspeak has tools (grope:) and then subfunctions(!commands)

net: is a series of functions relegated to interacting with the network. !attach ing IP packets and whatnot; building food lines and such.

grope: is a series of functions that let the program interact with other AI in non-violent means. !probe, !attach, etc.

surg: is a series of repair and defensive functions. the SPDR's !bite command was a surg: function, which may mean it has some sort of "higher priority". Little good it does her, as the Flea is a crafty bug.

so, we need to have the Flea use his surg: commands to !triage the Princess, and then begin to !reconst her.

I think this is a good idea too (although I don't know how to say it in flea speak either)

!probe extern proc 0

I think either we give him the proper command, or we have to figure out exactly how she has been damaged. If this is obvious sorry... Embarassed [/quote]
