That wasn't meant as a back story to the operator. Just Alex trying to be creepy. Mentioned in the season 2 dvd

 		I got very disappointed. Troy said he didnt like "filler" entries. What would be that one then? Btw this creepy story could actually fit in the whole series, somehow. It connects fire, water, long members, etc.

A method of conveying to us that something's wrong with Alex, so that we know to look for it in his future appearances.

Alex smashing that guy's head and pointing a gun at Jay and Jessica and not running from the Operator made it pretty clear... Anyway, it still could explain something about TO's origin. We have no information at all.

All of which took place after the forest walk entry. Clearly Troy wanted us to be wary of Alex going into those entries, hence the creepy story and odd behavior.

Ok, so it wasnt a filler entry. Sorry. But STILL, it could be a good back story for the Operator, plus the connection water and fire. :C

 		The creepy story Alex was telling may not be an origin story for TO but it could still have something to do with him. Like the whole "fast growing trees" thing... since Season 1 there's been a connection with TO and trees. Maybe TO had something to do with why they grew so fast? Anyway, at this point I'm more curious about what Tim wants to show Jay at the abandoned hospital. A lot of people think he wants to get Jay to help him go through that door but I'm not so sure. The way he reacted when he saw the "HE IS A Liar" message makes me think he really was lying about something pretty big. Also, there's also the question of whether or not the thing he wants to show is actually in the annex or the main hospital part.

 		I'd like to see Alex say more creepy things just to bring home Troy's point about Entry #38. Otherwise, it sounds like he's just telling a story.

 		I think that in Entry 38, Alex just told that story to be creepy and to change the subject to be about the Operator. It might not entirely be a red herring, though, if the theories of it foreshadowing the fire and water plot points are correct.

Perhaps, but Troy and Joseph said that there won't be any back-stories for The Operator.

What connection to trees is there? Besides him creeping around in the woods? If that's the only connection OP could be connected to moss as well...

That's what I was thinking, I just can't figure out why Tim would need to take Jay back to the abandoned hospital to do that. Confused

@NewInTown2 IIRC in some of the earlier entries Alex's creepy drawings said "trees" on them or had drawings of trees along with TO or TO symbols. And I can't remember but I think some of the earlier totheark videos mentioned something about the operator and trees. Also, the forest in Rosswood Park seems to be TO's "lair" or whatever.
