[INFO]SUNDAY recipe8 coords-SATURDAYNIGHTUPDATE -threadpage2

Decided this was worth a new thread. You can get any axons you need from here:

http://www.theblackforge.net/axons/

Today we got new preview coordinates on recipe8. These coordinates go live on SUNDAY 10/31.

http://www.theblackforge.net/axons/recipe8-coords.gz.html
or, for older browsers,
http://www.theblackforge.net/axons/recipe8-coords.html

Don't forget to set your clocks back an hour at 2am on axon day, 10/31.

There are *1400* axons going live between 11:00 and 14:10 on Sunday!

Happy hunting!

holy crap , there's 1400 axons!!

what are they doing to us, transmitting a movie or something? daaaaamn!

considering the max axons we've had per clip has be around 40, that's at least 35 audio clips... at minimum, say 7 axons, that's 200!

35 we can deal with... but if it's standard audio clips once again, that's anywhere between 35 and 200 clips to transcribe...

*starts packing for hibernation*

EDIT: of course, if that's just the live transmission, with say 1400 possible locations to listen in, that's a little more reasonable... Very Happy

Lt. Cmdr,
As you know, the channels of communication we are forced to work with
currently are very unreliable. I was unable to process some of the
names left by my crew members. I have located my broadcast plans for
503.xxx.xxxx. You will be contacted at 13:25 PT. Good work, soldier.

Anyone else noticed how about sixty bajillion of these are taking place at exact same times? There are like 40 scheduled for 11:00 PST alone!

EDIT: Of course others of you noticed. I'm just surprised nobody else is boggling at the sheer mass of calls happening simultaneously.

I'm boggling at the sheer mass of calls occuring at the same axon. Wink

Yes, I am finally getting a personal call! I am one of the 38 people getting a 13:25PST call (Lt. Loser).

Damnit. I'm gonna be in MA (and busy) on Sunday. I can't believe I'm gonna miss this. You think there's any chance of getting a personal Axon for Sunday still?

Due to this possibly being the LAST set of axons, I felt the need to thank Darkforge and ariock. Without their hardwork organizing axons, I would truly be lost. Thanks guys!

I expect to see you out there on Sunday! Very Happy

Manhattan based enhottenator checking in. It appears that there are only a handful of Axon locations in Manhattan, but they will be ringing several times during the day on Sunday.

I can be at those locations at those times with a laptop w/ wifi and the ability to record w/ a handset mic. Just tell me who to tell and what to do.

Wow, that's truly a lot of axons.

Is this the first time that individual axons have received multiple calls per day?

Does there seem to be any kind of pattern in the list as to which axons receive multiple calls and which don't? Mine only gets one call -- I wonder if it's random or if perhaps axons that have been very responsive in the past get more calls?

p.s. If anybody in Arkansas (or eastern Oklahoma or southwest Missouri) needs directions to the new axon in Fayetteville, send me a private message. It's the only current axon in Arkansas (recipe6 had one in the Fort Smith area, but it was removed for some reason), so the honor of our entire state comes down to a single call to a single phone. Arrgghh, the pressure!

so how do you think this is going to work?

if they're broadcasting the assault live, I'd highly doubt they'd be acting it out live... I'm betting they'll update the recipe8 page with the groupings as usual, but the clips won't be named, obviously, because how would Melissa know what to name them? So each sound block would have a certain number of axons per... but it would seem kidn of odd to only broadcast certain portions of the attack to various axons... online it works, cuz you'd have as list of 'links' to listen to between certain times, or they'll be downloadable at the end of its time range. But that seems quite unfair for axon hunters who are finding axons to hear the broadcast... but then again, if it's (meta)prerecorded, it's basically exactly the same as unlocking regular audio clips, the only difference is, Melissa now isn't going to require a minimum number to unlock it - cuz she's nice now Smile which in a sense defeats the purpose... why go to the axons to hear your portion of the attack when you can go online and hear them all as they happen.

problem quite interesting...

what's the format of sunday going to be? What are the logistics of Melissa's plan? this is crazy...

My prediction - 35 soundfiles. Just going from the time blocks in the axon lists. Additionally, I'm also thinking that either it's going to be a HUGE conference call, or they've got a whole lot of phone lines to use.

Even if it is a conference call, they still need x phone lines available if they're calling x people at a time. Melissa must've dug into the phone network pretty heavily.

I think that conference calls could add some extra depth to it all. It'd be more interesting if, instead of just a recording, you were also patched in with one or more of the other same-time axons. It'd be funny if you picked up a phone and it was just you and whoever answered the phone at another randomly-selected axon; you'd try to figure out what was going on, and Melissa would actually be listening in silently and would bust out laughing at an appropriate moment. Great prank. Doubt it could happen at his point, but now that she's integrated she'd probably enjoy doing such a thing.
