Serum, play nice.

Season 1 was best because it was original, new, and creepy. The mystery of trying to figure out who and what the operator was made it interesting and got me hooked. The frequent episodes was great, and the occasional long entry was a fun treat.

I honestly think the Operator was at his scariest in the first season. He's made excellent appearances in 2 and 3 but just overall, in terms of quality and quantity, I feel like he had more going for him in 1. He was more pertinent to the story even when he wasn't directly present - as he should be, since he's most likely what that set the story in motion - and I loved the fact that he was mobile (the way he moved in 64 is great, but he managed to be just as if not more frightening in 14 where he was actually walking).

That's not to say season 1 is my favorite. It's probably when I was most scared of the series, but that might have to do with... certain outside endeavors of the creators since then. It did have a certain quality that I don't quite get from the later seasons though. Maybe it was just the simplicity of it all.

One does not simply choose a favorite season. (Mostly because I like them equally.)

It was quite difficult, but honestly, I probably remember liking Season 2 more than I actually did. I remember being really bored for a while, until the last few entries.
