Hoo boy. Now here's an interesting one.

Well first off, I missed the 8:20 at Central Park West.

Well...I didn't miss it. Actually, I showed up with 10 minutes to spare, and relaxed by the phone in the pouring rain.

Come 8:20, the phone doesn't ring.
Come 8:30, the phone doesn't ring.

So I gave Angelo a call and asked him to doublecheck the time/location of the axon. Everything checked out.

So I waited until 8:40 before finally gathering my stuff, untaping my notes from the wall above the phone, and crossing the street to the park to do a bit of scouting.

Turns out, a little ways into the park, there's a restaurant called Tavern on the Green. I stroll through the parking lot and past a help desk to the front door, carpeted, under an awning.

A man in a full tuxedo with a tophat and tails stares at my torn cargo pants and hand-me-down sweatshirt and asks "may I help you?"

So I ask the question, and he points me to the door. Turns out there are 3 payphones in their lobby, right next to the men's room. Unfortunately, the man working the men's room (yes it's THAT fancy) didn't remember any incoming calls. Then again, he could barely speak english.

Ok...so that'll be a little awkward hitting that one next week. I may just have to show up in my best clothes.

Anyway, sorry I couldn't get there today. I'm really bummed because I really want a live axon before this thing ends.

I'm glad, though, that the axon sets are complete, because the only other axons near me are during class, and I've already excused myself once last week to "take an important call from my mother", so I'm not sure it'll work again.

I really want a live call too. I thought yesterday was my chance for sure, cause the ESB Axon was so early in the day (it's usually like 7:30 and later) But it was just a recording.

OK, this is what I see this week:

11:30 EST 40.7335 -73.995293 (Reuben Hall, #135)
11:38 EST 40.729724 -73.995423 (NYU Bookstore alcove)
11:41 EST 40.75201 -73.981868 (5th Ave. and West 40th)
13:10 EST 40.748415 -73.984813 (5th/34th - Empire State Building?)
14:05 EST 40.773359 -73.96416 (Madison btw. East 74th and 75th)
15:00 EST 40.727836 -73.995664 (Mercer St, btw. West 34d and Bleecker
20:09 EST 40.773127 -73.97821 (Central Park West and West 67th - Tavern on the Green >_<)

I may or may not be able to hit any of these tomorrow. My schedule sucks. I may e-mail and see about changing at least one of those ones closer to me to a later time.

I messed up last week at Central Park, and I've determined that the axon must be in a different location (see above). If I have time to check it out, anyone interested in coming with?

UPDATE
Two successful axons so far, at Reuben and at the NYU Bookstore!! Neither were Live.

One by the Staten island ferry

Me and a gentlemen named Jarred tried to hit that one today, but there was 3 different pods it could have been. we will try again next week.

Anyone done this one before to help us figure which one it is???

Like I said, I'm planning on hitting the 20:10 on Central Park West. The C gets off at 72nd, i believe, and you can run down.

Anyone want to meet me there? It'll involve a little searching because I know which one it is NOT, and that's the one RIGHT on 67th street.

Oh god! I'm so sorry! I had no idea it was posted wrong!

I wonder if it changed? I was almost positive I had them all correct. There have been a couple of changes since this morning, which I've updated, but I don't know why I would have been that off, unless I forgot to update the time from last week.

Argh. At any rate, I won't be making that mistake again.

He was talking about a different Axon anyway. Don't sweat it.

ALRIGHT! recipe8.html is up!

As you'll notice, all Manhattan Axons are at the same times.

Times are:

11:40 PST
11:50 PST
12:40 PST
12:55 PST
13:00 PST

Possible locations are...

Madison btw. East 74th and 75th
5th Ave. and West 10th - Reuben Hall, #35
5th Ave. and West 40th
Central Park West and West 67th - Tavern on the Green >_<
University and Washington Place - NYU Bookstore alcove
Mercer St, btw. West 34d and Bleecker

This is where we need to coordinate.

It would be easiest for me to hit the Reuben Hall axon, but it only rings until 13:00. I could just as easily get up to the Empire State Building, which is ringing basically all day, if that would help.

Centipede. Let me know What you're doing.

Ok, there's some disagreement in the Sunday Coordination thread (http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=97854#97854) about whether or not we'll actually have to be at the axon and activate it, in which case you'd be running to as many locations as possible...

Or whether you can just wait at one and take every call, assuming there's no activation required.

So I may end up not just sitting in the empire state building all day.

I can hit Reuben as well on sunday, or one of the other NYU locations if you can tell me where the actual phone is. I've never been able to find out where the other ones are.
