I don't-- I don't even... what? Is it a movie?

It's a remake of Slender, developed by the same person, with a story written by the MH crew.

So, it's a movie from the crew of Marble Hornets?

No, it's a video game.

Oh, okay. If it's on PC, I probably won't play it-- I'm a firm believer that PC gaming died with the first "Quake" in the mid nineties. After that, they made consoles dedicated for gaming, rendering the use of PCs obsolete. I have a couple friends who insist I'm wrong and that I should spend six thousand dollars in order to upgrade my PC so it can play games at "full graphics" which consoles "don't offer," but "F that," I say.

Not to get off topic, but da fuck did I just read? Consoles are ridiculously, overwhelmingly obsolete, and I would never even play them if not for some exclusives ie: Uncharted.

You can get a decent "high end" PC for about $1500 to $2000. Cheaper if you can get the parts directly and put it together yourself (or know someone willing to do this for cheap).

I'm starting to think you're trolling lately.

I'm sorry. I think I'm just more abrasive around the holidays. I'll shut up, now.

That much? You can build a decent gaming PC for around $500 or so, maybe $600, if you shop around. Buying parts separately and building the rig yourself is cheaper than buying a prebuilt system.

@Serum: You don't have to shut up completely, just be nicer. Razz

@rand__althor: I was factoring in labor charges for putting it together and over-estimating. The PC I got about two years ago was $1400 all told, including tax and software.

Though I do need to upgrade my video card now. I'm not sure if I want to go with a GTX 560 Ti or a GTX 660 Ti. I'm currently using a GTX 460 SE.

I was given to understand that it's a sequel, not a remake.

It's a bit of both, somehow.

I believe the creator refers to the original as a "prototype."

I just watched the trailer Tim posted on his Twitter-- it actually looks pretty good. It has a Marble Hornets feel, with the mix of urban decay and rural nightmarescapes. Though, I do think that a video-game based entirely on Marble Hornets would be awesome once they finished the series. Even if it's loosely based on the series.

For instance, I played this one game called "Catherine," which was essentially "Eyes Wide Shut: The Interactive Experience." So maybe a full-blown Marble Hornets game would come out looking something like "Dead Rising," with the camera aspect-- only instead of a still-shot camera, you'd have a camcorder and whatnot. And there could be a "rescuing of survivors" kind of thing, too, if that would fit in.

What you are describing might just be what Slender: The Arrival will be about, the game pretty much looks like one long "non-narrative" entry.
