sidenote: If anyone would like to help fill out the Star Trek wiki, I'm not sure how complete the coverage of the previous ARG is. I've cleaned up the current pages a bit to help categorize them, but this is the full list of pages (not that many).
Just getting it prepped for this one. The home page has been updated, but the areyouthe1701.com page has no archived content yet, nor does the timeline (which really should just include the discovery of the site )

Don't forget last ST ARG there were emails sent to only a couple of people with clues in them. The news quickly spread but it was to just a privileged few.

Man this wait is killing me! I've shelled out the big bucks to see the 9 minute preview and seen 3 other movies over the holidays. All of which had the trailer in front of them. I know this might be a bit off base and I know the PM's will "tell us when we begin" but if i remember correctly, the ARG for super 8 started out of some random comments about the train crashing and Josh Minkers craigslist. Do you guys think there is any chance that we need to be looking elsewhere for clues?

Rather difficult to do I know, but I think we need to wait. After registration the site says "Thank you, we will tell you when the search begins." Seems pretty conclusive to me. Also, I doubt the PMs would go live during the Christmas octave (in case there were any technical issues.)

I'm going with the theory that others on this forum have stated - in that there will be an update on the 17th January (1701) Although you beautiful Americanians do prefer your Month first and your Day second (which therefore would make it 0117)

Then again, doesn't Benedict Cumberbatch's character in the movie have a British accent? "Shall we begin?" sounds like something he would say. Maybe this ARG will be about his character's background/development??

or they could be waiting until the trailer with the hidden URL comes out in all other countries so they can register and partake.. last ST arg had worldwide locations and required people in those countries physical involvement..

Then theres the registration thing.. Like Poppeteers, they had to sort thru all the replies and print up and send back those certificates.. Many possibilities but it all adds up to ..
