Or it's the Deathwatch Guard, the Seanchan Empress' personal guard, from the Wheel of Time novels. Which is even less likely than the beetle.

 		Is that Timmy Tims walking towards the camera in the alleyway in Display? If so, you abandoned him would definitely refer to Tim.
