Another coincidence or something completely far-fetched?

Repeat the alphabet sequence - try it in reverse if you like - until you can align it with a line of 1-100.

Now count along that line and find the letter for each number pairs.

There will be no repeated letters. Each number will have a unique letter.
The only question is, should we start with 0=A, or 0=Z, or 1=A, or 1=Z, 100=A, 1=Z, etc...

Sorry i didn't get it. Could you show it somehow?

Scrap that idea, I mis-counted and the whole thing was wrong! Sorry.

well, the issue is that 0 is going to appear in any base—binary, octal, nonary, decimal, whatever.

Which is why I think it isn't in any sort of base, but a simple substitution or something else. I haven't actually attempted to solve it yet, but I do think that reversing the code is significant somehow.

I'm pretty sure someone attempted this earlier in the thread and didn't get anything out of it.

No problem! Well I tried doing some add and stuff, not sure of what I did but at the end i could replace the numbers with the alphabet order and it turned into a bad name of my language. lol wrong message I guess...

I think Jessica is a red herring, a distraction. Look at all the comments about her. How many people have gone back and noticed the brown hooded figure in the forest split screen with Alex? Immediately it jumps to the Jessica image, then the numbers.

Don't count her out just yet. Wink

Also, about the code, if you subtract the numbers in their pairs you would get

2 2 5 5 5 5 2
5 2 2 2 5 5 2

2 5 2 2 2 2
2 2 5 2 2 2

That's another interesting coincidence.

That's one of the first things I did. I tried some stuff with it and nothing really turned up. But I also included that some of the number if subtracted would be negative numbers so I also came up with:

-2 2 5 -5 5 5 -2
5 2 -2 -2 5 -5 -2

-2 5 -2 -2 -2 5
-2 -2 5 -2 2 -2

I'm still coming up with things to do with this though but I don't really think it will come to anything even if I think it is to interesting not to. I even tried to see if the 2 out of 5 code would be in anyway helpful, out of curiosity, and it wasn't.

As for the audio I hear "For safe keeping" when I speed run it through audacity.

Also, hey dudes.

Love how you say "dudes" like there's just men here. Haha welcome! Yeah I noticed that too, but I chose to ignore it. xD

Anyway, cracking the code on the description I learnt that on octal base a single letter must have 3 numbers, and to make sense they must start with 1. Like 156 = n. Maybe if we can rearrange the numbers in three instead of pairs and finding a way to cross the 8 and 9 out? Also the backward thing could work here.

On a telephone, of course, 0 is for the Operator.

Probably doesn't mean anything here though. Probably.

The internet is gender neutral. I don't mind being called "dude."

Because "dudette" is just insulting.

If you're looking up ANSI encodings, where uppercase A is encoded by octal 101, yes, but other encodings are possible.

However, you may be a bit fixated on octal. I doubt we'll have to go to extraordinary lengths to shoehorn in an obvious non-octal number as an octal index into some table.

I'm more intrigued by the 2/5 thing. Maybe together with "continue on" backwards it's pointing to an older entry? 25? (Jay's apartment burns.) 52? (Season 2 finale.) 2 and 5? (Alex looking for The Operator on a lonely road/visual tearing during MH location scouting.)

When converting the entire number sequence from near the end of the video.

7975832772722483756813832779688357682483797983577557

using Greek numeric conversion you get:

περισσῶς μακρός

Which translates into English as:

"Perissos Away"

Perissos is defined as:

1.beyond measure, extraordinary

2.greatly, exceedingly

I'm afraid this is a dead end. Sad The site in question cannot deal with numbers that are too big, and 'περισσῶς μακρός' is just a clever way to inform the user in greek that the number is 'beyond measure'. You can trigger the same output if you simply spam 999999999999999999999999999 into the text box.

But I do believe that converting the numbers to some ancient language could be the right way to go. Ancient languages like hebrew for example did not have a system of numbers, so they had to express numbers through their alphabet. This is how 666 can be translated to 'Nero Ceaser' in hebrew, check this video out if you're interested in details: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkZqFtYtqaI

The reason why I find this a possible way of cracking the code is because it does not contain zeroes. Ancient cultures in fact did not think of zeroes as a number, and would simply put spaces in place of zeroes.

Of course I might be overthinking this.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I have no idea how elaborate Troy can be with TTA puzzles, would he go as far as researching ancient languages
Still if someone is bored take a crack at it, here is a site with instructions on how to convert numbers to different alphabets: http://easycalculation.com/funny/numerals/greek.php
Maybe try adding the whole line of numbers or sections of it together.

Sorry guys, I really should have did more tests before posting it up. It just sounded so cool.

I'm not the first guy to get owned by a clever programmer.

A little late but, in my opinion, the constant flashes of Jessica appearing in TTA videos is to make Jay feel guilty about getting her involved, therefore keeping him on his quest to find her, which may help TTA in the end.

I don't see that as being any hint that she is TTA either. Like someone else has said, it would be really lame for TTA to be placing their own face in the videos and yet still wear a mask.

Also, I think this video is another hint given by Hoody that he has been around since season one. The first one being the doll left for Jay in the tunnel, which was certainly left by Hoody. I believe this was signifying that he was there way back then in Brian's house. I mean, how else would he have acquired it? I definitely think it was Hoody filming Jay as he was coughing on the floor of Brian's house. I don't see Masky being one to film any of the TTA videos since it seems like he can barely do anything but bum rush someone and make loud grunting sounds. The second being the shot of the TV with Alex in it, and Hoody in the background. It think it's signifying that it was actually Hoody Alex was being paranoid about, not just the operator. And if these are true then it would be pretty good evidence against Jessica being Hoody at least since she wasn't involved until much later.

I read through the thread when Surveillance came out but I can't remember- has anyone decoded the video description? There's some numbers there as well.
