Still working on it. There's an even amount of numbers in each set, and a few number pairs repeat. Maybe a pair corresponds to a letter?

Man, I still really think that was it with the 4-3-2-1 countdown thing, but since Jay posted, I get the feeling that he's telling us we haven't gotten it yet.

I've been trying to use his "advice" and double checked the pairs of numbers. I made a letter substitution for each pair, and tried to solve it as a cryptogram, but nothing really came of it. Just for reference, in case someone can make use of it, here's what I found:

By making each unique pair a unique letter, I was able to come up with these four "words":

abcdeef
cbghcda
gcigfc
aacibi

However, after running them through a number of cryptogram solvers, I came up with very little. Again, however, if anyone can make use of it, here are "possible" cryptogram solutions for each individual word (when taken as a set or as two pairs, they are unsolvable):

FIRST WORD
proceed, awfully, impasse, unhappy, sixteen, mistook, finally, equally, vocally, harpoon, partook, bedroom, morally, ideally, manhood, carpool, recalls, thrills, befalls, forseen, refills, uphills, enrolls

SECOND WORD
inquire, obvious, already, reports, evident, inquiry, implied, imagine, implies, animate, regards, returns, options, inspire, chances, animals, remarks, council, records, tainted, choices, fearful, knocked, chanced, knocker, tighter, invoice, fateful, toasted, reforms, inflict, actuals, impairs, abstain, avocate, tightly, taunted, imprint, tighten, satisfy, rewards, trusted, hatches, heights, twisted

THIRD WORD
people, thatch, proper, indian, asians

FOURTH WORD
oopses

I feel like I'm on the wrong path, and that the 2s and 5s thing seems far more likely. Still, might as well continue frantically searching for any clue, right?

EDIT: Crap, I just realized the the cryptogram itself could be scrambled. Is there a tool to solve for a scrambled cryptogram?

First two number lines forward, last two number lines backward like so:
ab c deef cbg hcd a [ibica] a cf gicg

Gives:
in a room and far I [eneai] I am dead

But twisting the lines around (all forward! all backwards! last two first and first two backwards!) is a little too much like sanding the square peg to fit in the round whole.

Unless TTA miscounted or we've mixed a letter up, I'm guessing the Ark is in Ibiza.

Paired vertically, then added the numbers in the pair, then substituted letters based on the number. This can't be right, though, since it'll only provide letters A-R, since even '99' will only yield '18'.

Does anyone want to try unscrambling them? I don't think that they'll be sensical, though.

There are 7 pairs each that equal 5 and 2. Grouping the pairs together seemed like a rational step to take (although it is 4am).

Guys, as with any code, you have to look for what repeats. Jay is right. Several of the number pairs repeat. Such as the number 72. What are the most common repeated letters in the English language? Vowels. Figure out the vowels and we have a start.
