I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned, but I think the footage of the figure at the end of the corridor at 0:03 is not the footage that came from Entry #65 (at 2:06). Maybe TTA has access to footage that Jay doesn't. (Either Tim didn't give Jay all the footage from the camera or TTA had a separate camera and was at the same place as Tim) or Jay edited the footage he showed us.

I see what you mean, and I agree – in #65, the camera is (kind of) static, while in Surveillance it's moving backwards, away from the figure.

By the way, while I was checking this I noticed something else. We tried finding where the "red scene" (the one with the hand) might have come from, and I had been looking for any entry taking place on a street at night, since I believe the big white circle we see is a street light (you can actually see the post over some trees). And now I've seen a street light and what appear to be trees in Entry #65, in the background of the red scene with Tim screaming. I'm attaching the screenshots, so tell me what you guys think. Could it be the same place? It's probably nothing, but whatever.

I don't know. It's hard to make out the background of the Surveillance red scene; though I think I see grass. Entry #65's red scene with Tim does look like it's on a street or the like, now that you mention it. There was talk, earlier in the thread, that the hand grabbing the camera may have happened around the same time as Tim screaming; as they are both shown in a red-ish tint, and are either preceded or followed by a scene with the hallway. But if one red scene is on a street, while the other is possibly on grass, then I don't know.

I'm probably just very blind, but I can't see grass Confused

Oh, I was checking the video; the "grass" isn't in the screen capture.

About the numbers again. I haven't given it a lot of thought, but what if only the first instance of each number pair is a unique letter, and the mirrors are just the same letters (i.e. 03 = 30, 27 = 72, 456 = 654, etc.)? I'm not sure how the "numbers can be multiple letters" thing fits into this though.

Not sure if this has been mentioned already or not, but in this video at the 6.15ish mark Tim says "There's one that was like… it's virtually impossible to crack if you don't have the key word. So I was like, "for season 3 we should put, like, a spoiler for something that happens right at the very end, but make it impossible to crack, and then only give them the code the day before the actual entry comes out."

Think it's just a coincidence?

After checking this out further, I see that we would have 55 unique letters if we went from 00 - 99. There are just too many things to this code...maybe.

Wow, good find. I really wonder if this is what's happening now. If only we could find out which textbook Tim used in his cryptography class, it would make things much easier...

I don't see how knowing which specific vritually-impossible-to-crack cipher was used would help us Very Happy

Anyway, there's a lot of such ciphers... That's of no use...

Has no one tried running the numbers the MH twitter tweeted a few hours ago yet?

I would, but I don't know anything about this number business.

Code:

In that video, Tim specifically says something about a transposition cipher, and I'm not good with ciphers, but the wikipedia page seems to offer some useful info.

Could be a Vigenère, could be a book or a Beale, it could be fucking anything at all.

As for agnosticAntagonist's solution (I apologize for making you lot try to remember four pages ago), it's unlikely, for the same reason the rest of the "solutions" I've seen are unlikely: everything is focused on the two sets of numbers in the video itself, and now the extra tweeted number set, but I have seen no love for the description numbers. None whatsoever. (I applied the "adding and QWERTY" solution to the description and got "ryupq", which, while hilarious, is hardly helpful.)

Thus far all I can think of is that the description, which is the first thing most people will see, consists of fifteen "sets" of paired numbers. The two number sets in the video consist of fourteen and twelve, respectively, and the tweet consists of eleven. It's decreasing every time we get a "hint", and yet with 52 characters in the total message, we still have jack shit.

I'd suggest waiting it out for another key, but I know damn well I can't do that. I've been running numbers in my head for a week now.

It probably says "By the time you're done decoding this, I'll have achieved my master plan and you'll have been too busy solving my pointless riddles to have done anything to stop me, you schmuck."

It could say "Ha ha, fuck you." That's eleven letters.
