I'm not very experienced with code breaking, but I've noticed an interesting coincidence. The first line of the first set of numbers ends in 24, the first line of the second set of numbers starts with 68, continuing the sequence. Also, The first line of the second set ends with 83, Which is also the begininning of the second line of the second set.

It could be nothing, but maybe it's a hint to the order the numbers are supposed to go?

4 is the only number that is never the fist digit of a pair. No idea at all what that could mean though. And 6 is never the second digit.

If you put them in ascending order, 4 is the most common difference between numbers:
Code:
// In order
03 13 24 27 31 35 39 57 68 72 75 79 83 95
+  10 11 3  4  4  4  18 11 4  3  4  4  12

I'm trying to work out a pattern that'd let us sort the pairs into the right order as per J's last tweet, anyone got anything yet? Someone said something about multiples of 11 and 12 earlier but it looked to me like they'd miscounted somewhere so I'll repost. This accounts for all numbers but doesn't feel right to me:
Code:
+11:   (02), 13, 24, 35, (46), 57, 68, 79, (90)

+12:   03, (15), 27, 39, (51), (63), 75, (87), (99)

+12:   (11), (23), 35, (47), (59), (71), 83, 95

(Edit because I goofed the numbers)

Joseph was attending Auburn though, but transferred.

Hey there, long time lurker, first time...anything haha (seems this TTA vid brought out more lurkers O_o)

Anyways was making notes of Troy/Jay's tweets and in one he says

"A couple of number pairs follow another pattern, I think. The second number increases by two. 83-95 and 27-39."

If you look the first number in the pairs he listed also increase by 1. Also, if you take the first numbers of the first number-pairs and the first number of the 2nd number pairs (sorry that's worded funky, I'm meaning [8,2] and [9,3]) the number decreases by 6. I don't know if this has been pointed out or not (I do apologize if it has) and I don't know if it helps or not.

It's here.

No, Tim's Facebook is here. But they go to the same school anyway.

Even if you can solve the puzzle this way, it's cheating. Rolling Eyes

Oh, I somehow misread it, and thought you wanted Troy's.

WALL OF TEXT

Welcome to the "OMG WHAT DOES THIS PUZZLE MEAN" thread! Your English is great, so no worries. Also, I might be TOTALLY out of place putting this here, but there WERE suggestions that Trosephim himself (itself?), or at least Troy anyway might make an Unfiction forum account (if he hasn't already), and give us extra hints. I'm not saying that person is you, but I'm also rather suspicious of everyone in the forum now, especially new posters. Just putting it out there.

And while it may be useful that you guys are figuring out what textbook Tim was using (if nothing else I'm just curious now), but I'm not sure why everyone thinks they will find the key by searching through the book. You might find the cipher (which COULD be a one-time pad, but I have my doubts; see below). As someone else wisely pointed out:
theonewhoquestions wrote:
Don't you generally make your own key with this sort of thing? I mean, it would kind of be easy to crack if it were completely standardized.

If we got the textbook, we might figure out what cipher was used, but I really doubt Time would have used the same key from the book.

Finally, here's why I'm thinking it's not a one-time pad (or if it is, it just got A LOT easier):
A one-time pad has to use a keyword once and only once to be effective. Jay has given use 2 sets of ciphertext. If nothing else, we would be able to combine the two sets of ciphertext together (probably using the exclusive or function) and discover the key. I doubt they would make it that easy (although I nee to try later just in case).

Three.
Code:
A: 79758327727224
   83756813832779
B: 688357682483
   797983577557
C: 9513390313793583953179

The third came from a tweet.

My first reaction to darmam0o's wall of text post was also thinking that he could be trosephim. It's just too perfect. If you aren't him / them / it than congrats on being altogether awesome. Of course a new post like this could also be me/ him trying to throw the trail off him / me / it. That is if I am who I say I am. Am I?

All while everyone tries to decipher the code, there exists an ongoing battle of mind games. We'll be lucky to have our sanity after all this is over and the smoke clears.

That sounds like something Trosephim would say!

I emailed Troy to his new public email address to make sure that Jay wasn't supposed to decipher the code himself, as someone suggested earlier in this thread. Troy said that anyone can decipher it, given enough time

Did anybody else read that and think that "given enough time" means "once we give you the rest of the puzzle pieces you need?" If the above is a direct quote from the message, then it sounds to me like he's saying that we're going to have to wait for the rest of it.

And if that's the not what he meant, what does having enough time have to do with anything? Does he mean we would have to bruteforce the thing, trying out every possible mathematical combination until we hit on the right one? Because it seems to me (a code-breaking layman) that we don't need enough time, we need the right method and the right key.
