Blair Witch Project - A part of the slenderverse?
considering the use of other creepypasta lore, can this film be seen to be in the same universe as t

got done watching this movie again today, it having been several years since I had last watched it (more specifically, before I became engrossed with the Mythos), and I believe it can be a part. Not necessarily that the witch is slender man, but that it he could be around

I honestly have no idea how Blair Witch can be incorporated into the Mythos other than the found-footage POV aspect. Maybe very MINOR similarities relating to horror themes.

I'm sure it is an inspiration and joke to many creators.

See your point

I just figure the woods being a big theme, and the fact they never directly see what is attacking them, alongside childish giggling and noises just screams slender man to me. Children going missing...

I'm pretty sure 90% of all myths involve kids getting abducted from creepy places. That's basically what myths are for - to make kids scared of being murdered, because apparently that's not scary enough on its own.

Slenderman did not exist at the time.

Im not sure about you but that seems like a pretty good pointer towards it not being about slendy.

I see your point, too. That's what I meant by "horror themes".

But wait... I thought Slendy was a German Myth and was hundreds of years old and we just "rediscovered" him, and... Rolling Eyes

Thank God you weren't serious.

It's my Slendy pet peeve. Some people get upset over the Operator Symbol outside MH. Some people get upset over red ties. I get pissy about Der Großmann and people who INSIST that it isn't a modern creation.

The fact that some people believe in the myth going back centuries shouldn't totally be taken in a negative manner. We should at least feel proud that we've established something of this magnitude.

Or we could just kick the ignorant. That's more satisfying.

Der Großmann may be a modern creation, but isn't there a legit legend from Germany about something that Victor Surge drew inspiration from? Maybe that's all in game, but I was under the assumption that Der Ritter was a legit legend. :/

Sorry... but... "Der Ritter" just means a Knight in German. The image that gets splashed on Slender-wikis everywhere is a photoshop of a plate from a German prayer book called Der Todten-Tantz. The point of the book was that everyone faces death eventually and there was plate after plate of images of people fighting death, or walking with death, or death observing them.

The one you are familiar with is the one where The Knight fights Death. Some enterprising horror creator took those images and 'shopped them up to give the Death figure more legs, etc. So he looks more supernatural.

Here is the original: Original Der Ritter

And just for fun here's another one that has been shopped into a Slender-image a couple times: Death takes a kid
