Great. The tape I found must've been laying in that spot for a while. There's dirt in it and it's not playing at all.
New Tweet. Didn't we see Hoody PUT the tape there? Or maybe he was just checking on it? Regardless, sounds like OOG there are issues with filming or something?

Don't think this is a hint of trouble, it's probably a plot thing. IMHO if there was trouble, Troy would've said so on his personal twitter, but he seems absolutely ok there...

One thing I just thought about was the fact that Hoody was wearing his whole get up. That means either he was aware that Jay was around and filming, thus the need to conceal his identity. Or, he is always wearing the mask and hood when he is on Hoody business, much like Tim/Masky, which would probably indicate that he is just as bat shit crazy in mask mode as Tim.

Two words:
Imposter. Hoody.
I think that was Alex dressed up as Hoody to try to confuse the everlovin' out of Jay and Tim. And he left the tape in the "follow me" room, and everything? Nahh, I don't think that was our usual friendly hoody.

My thoughts exactly but it seems weird that we saw (or think we saw) hoody put the tape there so maybe it was just to make us think he put it there but he was actually checking on it...
Or Jay is just being his normal Alabamian retarded self

Maybe Hoody swapped tapes or something? Like a dead drop.

Possible, but based on the fact it seems Hoody knew he was being followed- why would he risk that? He could go at a time he knew it would be safe.

Thaaaaaaaaaat is a very interesting theory. I know we're not supposed to be able to figure out hoody's identity based off of the build because hoody is usually played by different actors...
...but that guy walked a lot like Alex.

I don't think it's a pretty good theory... I mean, why would Alex go through all the work to get the exact same clothing and mask Hoody uses just to leave them a tape, instead of... killing them or whatever?

Or maybe it was already there, and Hoody was just making it look like he was burying it there.
Or maybe Jay/Troy had another DERP moment.

That was exactly my thought while watching Hoody walk there... He walked kind of... slowlier, as if more cautious, just like Alex usually does. Not the regular Hoody well known for his rapid movement, jumping through windows and running like crazy all over the place...
Except when he dissapeared into the woods, that seemed like a genuine Hoody...
Uhh, is my english comprehensible at all? Can't seem to put together a decent sentence today Sorry, I'm foreign...
P.S. If that tape is not going to be playable, that probably means we're in for another month of anger management and ostensible patience mixed with occasional passive-agressive forum post

I think that the "dirt in the tape" is another excuse to put a shitton of distortion in the video and to make it spooky. Much like Entry 36 . But that's just my thoughts

I've never quite understood why Entry 36's "last few minutes" were corrupted and spooky and distorted.

Here's some misguided speculation. Suppose Alex sent the tape to Jay to get back into contact, to use Jay to get to Tim. Then he got the operator to mindwipe Jay and steal the incriminating tape. However hoody intervened and delivered the tape back to Jay at some point, and along the way the tape got damaged (which is possibly what lead to some of the distortion we saw in Entry #22).
I've been intrigued by the idea that Jay had a "mini-wipe" during the big wipe ever since he wrote on the tape in Entry #50 (as if he was expecting to get mind wiped again.) That would explain why the whole 7 months got wiped, because it would have been everything since the last opportunity that Alex/the operator had to mindwipe Jay, and need not go back as far as Entry #26. It would also mean that present day Jay would have no awareness of the missing gaps, and that he may have been manipulated a lot more than he is aware of during that time.
Hmm, maybe this should have gone in the Entry #36 thread.

I agree with the idea that hoody was leading them to where he was leaving the tape. Where he stashed the tape was right by the exit if he was just going to stash it and leave he would have come in from there. But if he were to stash the tape like that there is a chance they wouldn't find it. I think hoody was taking an extra risk to ensure this tape was found.
Also I feel hoody thought he was safe from attack but that was his miscalculation. He's used to dealing with Jay who usually respond with running or covertly observing but never really taking aggressive actions and hoody didn't calculate tim's response. Lucky for hoody he didn't act soon enough
