Possibly OOG/metagaming:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I'm kinda facepalming at this one. This is a rather blatant plot hole. We just watched Hoody place the tape in that room.

Unless they're trying to get us to believe that Hoody merely walked into the room and crouched for 30 seconds to get Jay's and Tim's attention, while he actually hid the tape previously when he thought they were going to the hospital the first time, but that's really stretching it.

Afterthought: Another possibility is that the tape is actually from Tim's childhood and that Hoody was just trying to make sure they found it.

Just me?

I agree with this. But now the "The tape must've been laying there for a while" tweet makes me think the tape was always there. Even before Jay and Tim went there together for the first time. So maybe what Hoody wanted to do is lead them to it, since they've never found it.

That's actually a sound theory imho

If you watch entry 66 again, i don't think you see hoody take his hands out of his pockets at all, so he couldn't have placed the tape then without doing so

EDIT:Plus it is a belivable reason since Hoody did hide it under all that dirt and grime.

Except the part where Jay said "It must have been lying there a while"

Technically, Jay could be wrong. Though I have no idea why he would assume that it was lying there for a while in the first place. I doubt he could really see what Hoody was doing in reality any better than we could in the video...

Maybe he'll respond if I blatantly ask him on Twitter. Razz

You're right-but you know what that means? We watched Hoody wander around the f*cking hospital for 10 minutes for no reason.

This makes the most sense.

If that's what it is, can you imagine what's on it? Maybe they tape-recorded talking to Tim and he had a freak out in the middle.

...now I'm eager for another entry. Darn.

Maybe the hooded fellow was just checking to make sure the tape was still there. Or he had buried it somewhere else and was moving it. Or Jay's just wrong about this one. Or the hooded dude just does strange things sometimes. Like all the time.

Not the first time we've just followed someone around with nothing happening. Remember when we followed Alex to the tunnel? It wasn't until the next entry we found out about Bruce

I'm inclined to believe that Jay is just wrong, and that Hoody just threw a bunch of dirt and shit on top of the tape and fucked it up. Not exactly the smartest thing to do if you want someone to actually WATCH IT.

I'm with the group that thinks hoody led them there intentionally.

Oh man, a tape-recorded therapy session with a young Tim? That would be insanely awesome... no pun intended. It would probably come out like that one Slender Man audio recording with the guy in the police station, who starts to describe the tall man, then freaks out, and then the cop freaks out, then they vanish and you hear "unidentified footsteps..." Anyway, back on topic, given that the tape looked very old, it could be a VHS-C, which would probably be the kind a psychiatric institute would use in the late 1990s.

Maybe it's dirty because Alex buried it in the ground
