Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Jay specifically says that there is "dirt" in the tape... So it might have been buried/hidden before in another place (I'm thinking of places like the Hoody Hut or the Red Tower

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
OOG: Just saying it's more or less certainly just that Troy was following what uf'ers have been saying about filler tweets when there hasn't been much activity for a while as excuses for why another entry hasn't come out, much like when jay posted that weather held up entry 66.

But either way I'm all but positive that Hoody just wanted to make sure they found it...I'm starting to wonder what Hoody does with his life when he isn't stalking Jay, if anything....

Great. The tape I found must've been laying in that spot for a while. There's dirt in it and it's not playing at all.

Why would Jay assume it was laying in that spot for a while when it clearly looked like Hoody put it there? Plus, that area was pretty dirty.. Jumping to the conclusion that he was checking on it to see if anyone had found it yet is a little... abnormal

This makes the most sense.

If hoody wanted them to find it he would have clued Jay in on it's location, or just put it in Jays room while he was sleeping. This is not how you get people to find things. He never once looked back, I don't even know how he'd know he was being followed.

Well... Jay is not really difficult to predict. I mean, he posted they where going to the hospital and Hoody always seems to know what is going on, so this is not an absurd idea...

And, anyway. We know Hoody (well, and every character on MH) does not act like a normal person would do.

Actually....we don't see Hoody put anything down. I just re-watched that bit in Entry 66. We just see him messing with the debris on the floor when they finally focus on him. He was in there for several seconds before the camera panned back over to him. The tape very well could have been there for a while and Hoody was just checking on it, or alerting the dynamic duo to it's presence.

Fresh dirt on something comes off easier than caked-on dirt.

Jay and Tim were barely even trying to walk quietly--I'm surprised that Hoody didn't ever turn around considering how loud and obvious they were.

I'm fairly certain Hoody knew they were there. He was just using his own little form of passive-aggressive psychological warfare.

That is the best description of this series I have ever heard.

Whoa whoa, how about in that hole Jay focused on in Entry 21 that caused camera distortion? Maybe the tape was buried in there...

Dirty Tape...Plus possible corruption of the footage. It'll probably will take some time. I wonder what new secret it'll reveal. Especially what Granitemoth88 said about it possibly hidden in the hole in Entry 21, sounds big.

That's pure blind unfounded speculation about the hole from 21.

I want to think that the tape is a red herring and that Hoody was doing something else in the corner (it's pretty unlikely, though). I mean, looking back at Entry #66, all Jay did was move a board and he found the tape, he didn't really look for anything else. There could have been something else there.

Hey there, guys. Been lurking for a while and just can't stop myself from getting in on these discussions. Razz

Has anyone thought that perhaps the tape has revealed some vital clue to Jay about Tim and that Jay doesn't want him to find out that he knows this information? There have been conflicts before because Tim "did a search online last night for Marble Hornets". It would make sense that Jay would cover something like that up.

Otherwise it would be kind of weak that it took Jay something like 4 days to figure out that the tape was unwatchable.

This. I mean, if he actually showed that he knew they were there it would result in a confrontation that Hoody probably doesn't want to deal with.
