Ugh... I think my actual response to that conversation belongs in the rage thread. rageexport.exe

But yeah I could definitely see people not liking marble hornets, you have to be very patient to enjoy it, and not many people are. We're used to great shows coming out on a weekly basis, each week something exciting happens. Marble hornets we got weeks without entries, then multiple entries before something "exciting" happens. It's not a series for everyone.

I'm just glad they're keeping us more updated on the reasons for the gaps then they used to, both in game and out.

You guys are cute to think that someone who is this far along with the entries would stop watching them because they were underwhelming or unsatisfying.

Seriously one of the dumbest rebuttals to someone complaining.

I have one friend who stopped at entry 49, another at entry 61

Season 3 has been really weak compared to 2, I can totally see people stopping watching

Most of my friends stop somewhere between entry 2 and entry 17 when I've shown the show to them, most because it freaked them out too much, one because that kind of show just wasn't his thing, but 49 and 61 are some weird numbers to leave off on. There weren't really any drastic changes to the style of the show or the nature of the story in those (there were major plot twists, but they had sufficient buildup behind them, ie we knew Alex was becoming increasingly unstable, we knew that Tim had "episodes", that he needed his meds, and that the hooded guy was following him), so I'm just picturing a guy going "I like this show. *hat drops nearby* I don't like this show."

I've got all you beat: one of my friends never watched anything after Introduction because "what's so scary about this, just a dude driving a car"

Their complaints were that they never answer much of anything and they keep introducing more mysteries. Kind of like Lost-syndrome. Things did get a little boring around entry 60 imo

Yeah, I could see that. Both are definetely shows where you have to be patient waiting for the answers.

Do you guys even know what I actually said? Let me go over it again:

"I'm not interested in [predicting the outcome of this entry]. This entry was underwhelming. The next entry probably will be too."

That's it. I said I didn't like ONE entry & wasn't interested in the next one. I said fuck-all about not liking Marble Hornets, though since you've asked, I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with it.

You guys were the ones who leaped to the conclusion that I was an anti-Marble Hornets troll.

Now, as for this:

Quote:
The simple solution is that Tim, for various reasons that are important to him, wanted to tell Jay the truth at the hospital, so that's where they went to do it. It's sufficiently justified.

No. Bullshit. All you're saying is, "That's the way it happened, so it's justified that it happened this way."

Hey, let's apply that reasoning to this thread: I say the scene is bad, for whatever reasons I have, so that justifies that the scene is bad. I watch Marble Hornets, for whatever reasons I have, so that justifies that I watch Marble Hornets. I post my complaints, for whatever reason I have, so that justifies posting my complaints. Et cetera.

Now, you want to bitch that I'm complaining, but all I'm doing is responding to your counterarguments. It takes 2 to tango, if you don't want to talk about them, just excuse yourself from the conversation.

That is probably what I will be doing after this post. It seems to me that you guys aren't willing to acknowledge that it's even possible that the way this was written wasn't the best way, so there's really no point in continuing this.

Except that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that's the way they set it up in the previous entry. Additionally, from a character perspective and a thematic sense, as has been covered in this discussion already, there are reasons for Tim the character to want to give his confession in the actual location. To label one character choice as illogical in this case when it doesn't contradict logic or lackthereof used throughout the rest of the series by a set of characters who constantly take calculated risks is completely arbitrary, and you've given me no reason to treat it as a common sense approach, let alone a fact. In other words, it's not that I'm incapable of seeing it as unecesarry, it's that I understand your train of thought leading to that conclusion and think it's wrong, just as you think I'm wrong.

It justifies that you have an actual reason for saying the scene is bad. Your argument is not compelling enough to sway me into agreeing with your reasoning, however, just as mine clearly isn't compelling enough to sway you.

It's not anything new that they go to a certain place just to talk about something, like 58, 63 and 64, it's not something that I really like, though.

@Lithp Just take your raging to the rage thread and leave us be. You're not discussing anything because you're being too obtuse. All you're doing is yelling at people for providing you with evidence that doesn't support your claim.

Several of us have been down this road before and would like to not have it repeat because that would really really really really piss off Zarrrg.

To the people who call out ragers: you are the ones who ruin this board by further bringing attention to it and bringing things off topic further. Just let them rage and shake the need to reply to them.

Technically, we were on topic. The problem is that someone is pretending they are a brick wall and not listening when he's provided with evidence that contradicts his firm stance. :V
