Hey there, guys. Been lurking for a while and just can't stop myself from getting in on these discussions.
Has anyone thought that perhaps the tape has revealed some vital clue to Jay about Tim and that Jay doesn't want him to find out that he knows this information? There have been conflicts before because Tim "did a search online last night for Marble Hornets". It would make sense that Jay would cover something like that up.
Otherwise it would be kind of weak that it took Jay something like 4 days to figure out that the tape was unwatchable.
I have a feeling you're on the right track. Or maybe he saw something that incriminates himself in something big?...He's hidden stuff before, back in Season One.

Jay and Tim were barely even trying to walk quietly--I'm surprised that Hoody didn't ever turn around considering how loud and obvious they were.
I'm fairly certain Hoody knew they were there. He was just using his own little form of passive-aggressive psychological warfare.
This. I mean, if he actually showed that he knew they were there it would result in a confrontation that Hoody probably doesn't want to deal with.
Maybe whoever it is under the hood was in a trance-like state or was being led remotely (far out there theory, but you never know)

OOG:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
They pretty much always let a few days pass before tweeting about something that happened in the most recent entry. It gives people time to actually watch the video first without spoiling it for them. Even if it makes no real sense in-universe for Jay to be concerned with that, it's an acceptable break from reality in my opinion.

I find this tweet oddly hilarious. I can just imagine Hoody coming home after a hard days work wandering abandoned buildings and looking into people's cars, sitting down at his computer and facepalming when he reads Jay's twitter. He's like: "I did all this work pretending to ignore you and lead you to the tape and it doesn't work?!"

That's the American remake by John Sturges, you're thinking of Akira Kurosawa's Seven Slendermen , starring T oshI ro M ifune.

Well, this makes sense now:
Kambei Shimada - the original ToTheArk.

Great. The tape I found must've been laying in that spot for a while. There's dirt in it and it's not playing at all.
And the investigation comes to a close!

My bad. Didn't mean to refer to the Twitter in the Twitter thread.

Except that it's not a new tweet and it's already been discussed, which is why they said you were late.
