Oh yes I know of the limited swag in ARGs like the statues . But the swag I was looking forward to could have been the comic or braclet or even a letter saying sorry.
The comic was online. People posted pages of it to the wiki so others could download it for free without ever needing to buy the gum or even play the game to earn access to those pages.
For the company (either company) to print it would require an even bigger budget than what they've already used up -- and then to give it away for free would be madness.
(unrelated personal plug : Please support your local independent comic shop and buy something.)

I'm on the same boat as netsua. The ending for this ARG was executed extremely poorly. There was no conclusion or really any clear sense as to what 5 Gum was trying to achieve other than sell gum with no payoff for the customer.
42 promised us a reward. If they want us to continue to follow their work, they really need to stay true to their word.
I'm actually surprised most of you aren't frustrated as to the way 42 has been ignoring this.

Dear Mr. Beaty,
Thanks again for contacting us with your comments. We are sorry the response you received following your initial contact was so disappointing that you have developed a very negative attitude toward our Five Gum products.
We want you to know the promotion was never intended to provide the participant with any type of prizes since it was designed specifically for entertainment purposes only. That being said, receiving a "Token of Appreciation" is unlikely but to reiterate what we stated the first time we conversed, this issue has been sent up to the program administrators for investigative purposes and hopefully we will be able to produce an answer in the not too distant future.
Sincerely,
Jim Wilson

42E has never failed. They might be late but they'll show.
It's now mid-December. They show yet? No "token" here yet...

5 gum ARG anger. I just want to say that I don't think we should be mad at 42E as they are just the company that produced the game. I'm sure that 42E's plan was to have wrigley's gum pay for the "token" at the end of the game because then you can know how many prizes you need to make and how much to spend on shipping. The way I see it if wrigley's gum really cared about us they would have sent out a notice but 42E is not to blame. I'm sure the 42E employees enjoy playing ARG's and are very frustrated at Wrigley's to have their name on this project. I look forward to any future project that 42E is involved with.

Calm down, people Guys, calm the heck down already. I just sent an email to 42 Entertainment to find out what happened with this reward and hopefully they respond back. I'll let you all know if they say anything.

Something tells me you won't be getting any meaningful reply. We already are pretty sure that its not 42E's fault, and they aren't going to say anything potentially negative about a client.
Hopefully, I'm wrong...

Maybe we should revolt We could just mail a bunch of chewed up 5 gum to the appropriate people...I mean, imagine the poor person who has to open that.
