The thing about lip reading is that it isn't as easy as people think it is. Unfortunately, due to the lighting, the video quality, and the small amount of footage, it's really kind of impossible (I read lips. I'm partially deaf and have been reading lips most of my life). I've watched through that scene over a dozen times and I just cannot pick anything out other than If and You.

Although maybe it's just me. If you can do it, go for it.

EDIT: Is that TO on the left? The white area looks like a tie and you can see a silhouette of something tall below it. It could just be a leaf, though and the tall thing could be a coincidence.

I can't really see anything there. Could you highlight which part you're looking at?

Here's a still of the really quick flicker during the night part for reference:

Thanks for posting the flicker, it took me ages to pause youtube on this spot! It looks as though hoody isn't actually wearing the mask in this screenshot, but it could just be some folds in the fabric that look like a nose. Also, it looks like Hoody turned around suddenly here. Was s/he taken by surprise?

This.

The main thing about that was not the information, but that Tim seemed to finally open up and trust Jay.

Very yes.

People will like what they like, but I don't understand how that scene could be called 'filler' unless you've completely missed what MH has been doing for the last two seasons. It isn't just about suits and answers anymore, it's just as much about the characters and how they handle the situation. I'd say even the Operator himself is becoming more of a MacGuffin at this point.

Some people won't like that. Fair enough. But I think that any meaningful criticism needs to see MH for what it actually is, rather than expecting it to be what you want it to be, and then calling everything else 'filler'.

Going to weigh in here. A LOT of things going on. This is apparently after Tim's freakout. He's wearing the chest cam, or at least the holster though this. Alex is protected by the operator.. Tim got some measure of revenge, and it's more apparent that Hoody coerces and convinces Tim to work with him to get at Alex, and has to be crafty about Tim when Alex isn't directly involved.

Alex is also possibly not dead. Hoody hesitates about shooting him, but then, I think it's just because he's not a murderous monster and may have some misgivings about ending Alex. Perhaps he's been trying to get Jay and Tim to do his dirty work killing Alex. Maybe he was hoping Tim would beat him to death.

A good entry overall. Great action. Loved Seeing and hearing Hoody "plunk" Alex with the conduit. Pretty sure they picked conduit this time because it has that ring people were critical about when Alex used the rebar.

Entries 56,60,61, and 65 have all been amazing. This new entry was the best one of the season so far with the possible exception of 65. I don't know where all the complaining is coming from. I think this season has consistently been better than season 2.

Also, I don't think anyone has specifically taken note of the fact that we get to see TO moving! It's like a return to the season 1 TO that actually...you know... did stuff and didn't just stand there. Awesome.

Now we know what happened in Entries #64 and #65 between Tim's overdose and calling Jay.

Hoody dragged Tim from the hospital, and told Tim to wait for him until he got back.

Hoody went to find Alex, who decided to search through the Hospital for Tim, Jay, and/or Hoody. Hoody strikes down Alex with a steel pipe and drags him off to some room to tie him up to a chair.

Alex wakes up and starts shouting at Hoody, and then Hoody informs Tim that now's the time to exact revenge. Tim starts whailing on Alex, and then Hoody searches Alex for the pistol. Hoody finds it and attempts to finish off Alex once and for all, until The Operator shows up behind Hoody and chases him and Tim away before footage cuts out.

Later in the footage, Hoody is searching the forest with the gun still in hand, and fires off a shot at something before the footage cuts out again.

Daytime: Hoody is in the forest and finds Tim waking up again, and finding his Masky mask. Tim starts coughing violently upon seeing it, and then reaches for his cell phone to call Jay, setting up Entry #66.

And that is whay I got.

See, I didn't get that kind of vibe at all. I thought Alex looked kind of annoyed more than anything else. If that is so, then that means he probably knew TO would ride in on his white horse show up to save the day. XD

Or, he was just hazy from having Tim beat the crap out of him and was confused. That too. Razz

I'm pretty sure Hoody left the tape for Jay and Tim; They announced that they were going to visit the hospital, and you could pretty much guess they would look in the "He's a liar"-room. But why?

Possibly to warn them how to deal with Alex. The tape shows what happens when you mess too much with Alex: TO shows up. So it's basically an instruction to getting information from Alex: Torture is fine, life-threatening is not fine.

Sounds like it, and when you get the information you were seeking, TO will chase you out anyway. Cool

To me, Alex looked totally pissed and not wanting to give hoody the pleasure of seeing him sweat.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I seriously want to know how they made his face look puffy like that.

So when was this recorded? Is this recent or a tape from a while back?

It took place during the time right after Tim was abducted by the Operator, went to the hospital, and took all those pills. What was that, two months ago?

hmpf

I think Alex muttered the word "shoot" during that snippet with him muted.
Or something along the lines of "should...yourself". Correct me if I'm wrong.

I was under the distinct impression that Hoody left it there for him.

Spoilered for OOG discussion:

There is no set limit on how long this season is going to be. We have gotten considerably far in the story from entry 60 if you think about it. That's only 8 entries. For all we know, there could be 20 or even 30 in this season. The point is, they know what they're doing, and the fact that questions are still being raised is a GOOD thing. It means we still have many entries to go

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
To put it all in perspective, the first season contained 44 video uploads (including the totheark videos) with a total runtime of 1 hour, 30 minutes and the second season contained 37 videos with a total runtime of 2 hours, 21 minutes. This Entry is the 25th upload this season (24th if you do not count the original upload of "entry" as a distinct video) and we are currently at a total runtime of 2 hours, 30 minutes (or 2 hours, 23 minutes if the original "entry" is excluded as a duplicate).

It's not fact until it's confirmed, and the same goes for this entry.

Exactly. Many of us believe that Brian is Hoody, and while there are several clues in this entry that point to this (e.g., Hoody pulling Tim out of the Hospital and assaulting Alex), we cannot definitively say so until the series actually says on screen, "Brian is Hoody," or has an unmasking like we saw for Tim. Yes, most of us "knew" that Masky was Tim before Entry #35, but it wasn't canon until we saw the mask removed to show Tim's face.

Most of the other points I wanted to touch on have already been mentioned, but here are my key thoughts to date:

Alex is protected by the Operator. Most probably, the Operator uses Alex to lure victims to him, as seen with Brian and "Bruce", and possibly as well with Seth, Sarah, Amy, and Jessica. In return, the Operator protects Alex from direct harm, as seen here and implied in the earlier Entry where Alex chases after Hoody and is assaulted in the woods by his house.

Sidenote: Tim was potentially a victim before Alex's involvement, but for whatever reason, the medication he's been on prevented this "bond" from forming. Conversely, it is also possible that Tim was involved to this degree before, and that's how the Operator was led to Alex.

This video definitely shows that Hoody wants to be seen as a figure of power. He wants Tim and Jay to remember that he is the one "calling the shots," at least as far as the mortals are concerned. This video is for both information and intimidation. It cannot be seen as exclusively one or the other. Regardless of whether Hoody actually succeeded in shooting Alex, he wants Jay to be aware that he follows through on his promises, i.e., "This is your last birthday" in reference to Alex.

While the immediate issues with Jay playing the tape can be ascribed to damage it suffered sitting in the debris, it seems apparent that the other audiovisual problems are related to proximity to someone affected by the Operator, as both Tim and Hoody have been shown to possess this affect. If Hoody recorded this video with his own equipment, it's very possible that the camera itself is irrevocably "Slender-touched".
