Great question.
We humans have forgotten the meaning of a lot of the symbolism...

I suggest we all do what we can to research and understand all the aspects of our own card and the intended symbolism behind the pictures. It might facilitate any decision making we need to do further down the road. The more I research, the more I am baffled by the synchronicity and similarities of the traits of the Chariot and traits in myself and recent life situations... anyone else experiencing this?

Hopefully they will take Amandal's question to heart and provide some DECENT links. A simple search can be overwhelming and misleading.

ndemeter, if you would like help brainstorming on the info you have been given, please let us know.
I've been emailing...I am pretty sure the one I received today references your correspondence:

Quote:
One of The Keepers has been given information leading to the identity of FD and may eventually come forward with that information. Of course, some people don't always know that the answer lies right in front of them. Key pieces of information are easily overlooked in our line of work.

As for going through her father's papers and computer files, that is something you can encourage Anna to do when you get a chance to speak to her.

Finally, it's important to give some thought to Anna's dream and to the things Anna's father says he needs.

Sincerely,

Sivvy, Ginny, Annes, Melia, & Norma

Added: I keep thinking about the historical references mentioned. I am pretty sure Sivvy / Sylvana is a reference to Sylvia Plath. Maybe we can figure out who the nicknames represent and see what they all have in common. Authors?

Honestly, I have no idea if I have received anything relevant. Let me go over the other emails and if I find something I'll quote it here.

Are we assuming Sivvy, Ginny, Annes, Melia, & Norma are the first five card holders?

I think we know for a fact that they are five of the six first cardholders. Annes is keeper of The Fool, Sivvy keeps The High Priestess, Norma is keeper of The Empress, Ginny is keeper of The Emperor and Melia keeps The Hierophant. (ref) We do not yet know who is keeper of The Magician, and they don't seem to know either.

HappyPhantom, brilliant. I'm completely onboard with your theory of the five being historical characters who have all been cardkeepers in their days, Sylvia Plath being the one we're talking to.
So who are the others? Female authors is indeed a very good place to start, or at least notable cultural females (painting, drama etc).

From your correspondence with Sylvana, it seems we need to do 2 things:
1) Aid ndemeter in figuring out what "key pieces of information" will lead to the identity of FD.
2) Figure out what Annas father needs.

I'm thinking Ginny could be Virginia Woolf. And what I found interesting, but is possibly unrelated, Meliae is a class of nymphs in Greek mythology.
Of course the first thing that comes to mind of Norma is Norma Jean Smile But other than that I have no idea.

Apologies, the list was a lot less populated last time I looked at it.

My first thought for Melia was Amelia Pond and then Ginny Weasely and a whole red head theme.

The next Amelia that springs to mind is Amelia Earheart.

If Ginny is short for Virginia then Melia could be short for something ending with melie or melia, like Amelia or Emelie/Emily. Brontë, perhaps, or Dickinson? Annes could be Anaïs Nin, but that might be a stretch.

Also from Anna's dream; an empty desk which used to be where his papers and computer were.

Someone leaving a workplace?

RE People Who Care

Hi all. I've finally sent an email this morning, hopefully I'll get a Minor arcana designation soon.

About the "People Who Care" post, I think the TV show is 'Jem and the Holograms'. One of the many songs from the show is 'People Who Care'. And seeing how the blog post says "...about People Who Care" and not "titled" I think this is a good match. The toon ran from 1985 to 1988 as (I'm assuming) a Saturday morning cartoon. I'm pretty sure the Epi is S01E08 titled "Starbright part 3: Rising Star".

The other two possibilities I found are "...And Learning for All" a seven-part series examining education in America, with one epi titled "People Who Care".
The other show is "With This Ring" a 15-min religious program produced at the studios of WJBK from the 1970s to the mid-1990s that usually aired following the station's sign-on or before sign-off on Sundays. One epi. is titled "Young People Who Care".
The possibilities of Anna watching one of these two seems most unlikely.

Sorry for the long post, just wanted to share my findings. I got so excited about 'Jem' that I even email Winter about it, even though I haven't gotten a reply to the Sign-Up email. Geek

Maybe Melia is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princess_Amelia_of_the_United_Kingdom , since the early death is a connection between her and Sylvia Plath

Edit: That would also fit in with: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mabel_Normand

There's also a nonprofit People Who Care organization. Google yields lots of results for that one... I pictured Anne watching some sort of talk show that featured do gooders and organization officials as the day's guests.
omg... JEM. I'm sure I am totally about to date myself, but I can remember watching that one as a kid. Normal fashionable teen by day, totally outrageous rock star by night. (facepalm of embarrassment) Rolling Eyes

Truly Outrageous

To TBelle & your very talented Mr.: this is simply beautiful with such charming details. TY TY! There's a Cardkeepers blog update titled Seek & some other resources.

And in reply to my theory about the wording in Anna's dream Winter Sylvana wrote:
We are impressed by your knowledge and wisdom. You behave the way a true seeker should. We should say that although many clues lie in words, the clues in Anna's dream lie in objects.

So, Cardkeepers are über nicely saying my theory was hooey Laughing 'tho hope her reply helps further & definitely agree with the Sivvy/Sylvana=Sylvia Plath connex etc.
