First of all, congrats Syncopal on a sucessful drop recovery!

Secondary, bambusar is doing a truly amazing job of keeping this thread up to date and I regret not following it until now.


And lastly some meta thoughts. The scope of this ARG and the apparent resources that should have gone into it baffle me, it's way more than your typical run-of-the-mill text-based game (or maybe I'm just overestimating the costs of using those phone lines for so long, which is something I don't know very much about). I don't doubt for a second that it's an ARG, but I wonder what it could be about. Games with good production values usually tend to be part of promotional campaigns for movies and whatnot, but they are usually shorter. This game reminds me in some ways about the Junko Junsui ARG, which also had high production values, but wasn't promoting anything (it was a CV-building effort by a man named Patrick Marckesano).

Agent number 26037183 came from back of the book Molds and Lichens of Nova Scotia found in Knights of Pythia cemetery.
It was found on the banknote found on same location two weeks earlier.






This song is only thing on we got from two visits of that drop location. (besides ATA ram memory card that is useless and as we heard during "keep alive" code wasnt part of the drop at all, we were not supposed to take it at all). There must be some data in it.

I wonder why there is number (709) 700-0122 mentioned again, that number contain scramblers (that are now almost solved) and currently isnt transmitting anything.

Today by calling MD we had option to chose the comands he inputs in OLD MAINFRAME, he is using to get us answers.

Malaysia Drop Updates!

I got in contact with a Taiping native, and he's agreed to go check the rest stop today (at some point).

He was concerned that it was dangerous, so I sent him pictures of the other drops to assure him it wasn't.

I gave him my personal email, told him to email pictures of anything he finds, and also to wait until he got home to open it if it's a black envelope, and if he needs help to go to the IRC chan.

He knows IRC, that's where I found him. Wiki has been updated on the Malaysia drop page with transcript of the conversation and status.
