Btw, has anyone gotten this email? I just got this myself:

Interesting how it's regarding JUST Watch Dogs specifically. Coincidence?

I got one as well. I'm thinking it was due to the little mishap they had during the Joseph Demarco email we got a few days ago. It had every recipients email address visible in the CC field. It was eventually fixed. They likely sent this email to those who signed up on the dotconnexion website.

Not to s*** on everyone's most recent efforts but I think we're following a non-existent trail.
The image is hi-res bc this is a next-gen game and they're showing a bit of ego/flair regarding the image quality.

Well, I am not sure what you meant with that.

If you said there is no ARG going on then you surely don't get the spirit of an ARG(eg. Question EVERYTHING, even yourself).

If you meant that just this trail is dead, then I am absolutely open to new ideas.

Also, for everyone that got the email cleaned, it would be a good idea to register back to news of the game. Despite that I have been thinking in the way they worded that e-mail. Notice they say if we want to continue receiving new about the game, therefore maybe we are out of the dotconnexion mail list.

I keep thinking though. If that is right, what does it mean? That the game is over? If we were to organize an ARG and give up on it later, how would we dismiss those players? Wouldn't that be a great opportunity to do just that?

Again this is just a bunch of conjectures with no basis besides my gutfeelings, but what do you guys think? Is the ARG still up? And if it is, are we on the right trail messing with this picture?

I think it's an ARG and it's running, but we're waiting on them to make a move. We've pretty meticulously combed over everything they've given us and found no leads. We might just have to wait for a real clue.

Update = No new updates

Just checking in on this one.
Watch Dogs showed some new gameplay today during the big Sony PS4 press thing and I did not see anything resembling a new clue though the presenter, whose name escapes me, had a very cool Watch Dogs branded t-shirt that had a skull image.

I have to wonder if they killed this ARG after the mass e-mail snafu.
Anyone else think they saw anything during the presentation?

Copy/paste from reddit:

During the video at 0:50, you can see an advertisement with a website for ctOS . http://www.chicago-ctos.com

On the website, it says:
DEDSEC
Dare to Resist
Quis Custodiet Costodes Ipsos
-[[[ This domain has been seized by DedSec ]]]-

The phrase Quis Custodiet Costodes Ipsos is Latin for "Who will guard the guards themselves?" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quis_custodiet_ipsos_custodes

Watched the video again. Saw a lot of graffiti art referencing DedSec. Wouldn't be surprised if it was a group against ctOS. Here are screens I took referencing ctOS and DEDSEC. I also included a few shapes that flash in the beginning, along with the text ctOS and other words:

Nice.

I blame the poor streaming/live feed quality.

[Trailhead?] Watch Dogs video game

I haven't been on these forums in a really long time, but I was intrigued by some posts I saw on reddit for a game coming out called Watch Dogs.

Thoughts?

when the first gameplay footage came out at e3 last year there was a qr code hidden in the footage that led to http://dotconnexion.ubi.com/ but nothing ever really came of that which was sort of expected with the game still unable to give a release date.

i am REALLY looking forward to this game but they are doing a careful dance right now because they are next gen and neither sony or microsoft have announced when the consoles will be released. this new trailer was shown at the sony ps4 conference last night giving us a date for the console of "holiday 2013" and microsoft is expected to do the same at e3 this june so i am betting we will get a more solid trailhead or at least more clues at that time. if watch dogs ends up being a launch title 6 months seems like a perfect window for an arg tie in to build hype.

You're right, they've been very tight-lipped about release dates. Hopefully these are all little pieces of the puzzle for flavor, and they'll come out strong with a solid ARG trailhead a bit further down the line.

it's not even that they want to be tight lipped about release dates they HAVE to wait until sony and microsoft announce their console release dates. a lot of developers are going crazy not being able to give release dates for their current projects but like i said i fully expect that silence to be broken in june. hell i watched the two hour conference last night and sony didn't even show us their console, just the controller and only because they had to.

fyi, the original thread got up to 6 pages and was archived; recent activity bumped it, but do keep the conversation going here in the new thread.
