Got a reply to my email asking about the infinity symbol;

Yes, the book gives us the number 8 and the infinity symbol (which relates to Anna, who is the magician), among other things

New blog post almost exatly similar to what Elethamei had predicted.
eight-of-swords

A woman is tied and blindfolded within a cage of swords. This is the "damned if you do, damned if you don't," card. The Querent is in a situation where they're afraid to move. If they move, they'll get cut. However, the ropes that bind them, the blindfold over their eyes, are their own fears, keeping them still, immobile. And so the longer they stay, the more they constrain and entrap themselves. Ever been in a situation where you're afraid to say anything, so afraid that you second guess yourself, end up saying nothing, tying yourself in knots? But speaking up is going to get you cut to ribbons? That's this card. The Querent must have the strength to endure the cuts, else they'll stay trapped. They must move, for the longer they let the situation continue, the worse it will get.
Oh, and I didn't even email that to them. That's straight from wikipedia btw. Forgot to put the source earlier.

Interlude… February 21, 2013
We leave Anna with her letter and her dilemma for the time being. We will come back to Anna's story, which is central to why we have brought you here. However, Anna's is not the only path we will take you down.

There is a point at which history becomes personal, and one life transcends a statistic or an entry in a book. But history is important too, because it provides the backdrop to everything we experience daily, as current events merge into the past and create the future.

We also want to remind you that this journey is not to be taken lightly. There are dark forces at work in history, people who depend on the underlying structure of society to continue uninterrupted.

Make sure that you surround yourself with people you can trust, and then trust no one. Do not give away information that can link back to you, your family, or your personal life.

Finally, remember that clues take many forms. A puzzle is like a tapestry. Sometimes it's hard to see the larger pattern when we concentrate on the individual pieces.

The Keepers are soon to be presented with a challenge. Be ready…

And I have already given away info about my personal life. Hrmmmmm.

Cardkeepers posted this as a twitpic to their accn't. Attaching it as it seems relevant to the Interlude entry. To me the handwriting looks similar to that on the FD note

So that letter is weird. Everything we have seen so far is so well written, yet that letter says "that meets the eye" rather than "than meets the eye".

ETA: I asked about the odd wording, and if they knew who sent the letter. My response:

Quote:
LA,

Very observant. While we cannot reveal the identity of the author of the letter, remember that goal #2 is to gather.

Sorry for the late post, I was busy all day.

I sent this in about Michael Lawler
Quote:
Michael Lawler
The book and playing with the letter opener/sword. I get a bad feeling about this guy. He is less than forth coming about Anna's father. Michael seems to have an ego that he thinks he is smarter than everyone else. I know the type and can spot them. He thinks of himself as a strategist and the book helps him cope while looking for a formidable opponent. He has something to do with Anna's father and now is feeling out Anna for his next ego fix.

The response I got back

Quote:
You have very good instincts.

Where Michael Lawler Is a sword, he can not he #8. The 8 of swords is frozen with fear and ca not move. Michael Lawler is the very opposite. he moves without fear almost to the point that he will ultimately undo himself. the question is how many will he hurt in the process.

If anyone is the 8 of swords it would be Anna's mother.

There is a key. To a diary? We need to find something to unlock.

There is also a preposition missing from this sentence:

Quote:
Recent events have led me believe[...]

We know it should be:

Quote:
Recent events have led me to believe [...]

I presumed it was an innocent typo, but maybe the word errors are meant to suggest a younger writer?

This, of course, is dependent upon the idea that younger writers automatically equal poorer writers. Yay prejudices Rolling Eyes.

Feel free to e-mail them about that preposition if you like.

Edit: Actually, we know that this isn't a younger writer due to the fact that the person writing it suggests that a great expanse of time has elapsed for him or her. This person wishes to encapsulate all of that experience into the document. My guess is Anna, personally, as we know we are moving toward the present of her story.

Maybe all the 'mistakes' together give us another message?

Just documenting "mistakes" and words covered up by cards. Covered letters (my best guess) in bold.

chronicle everything
on world
to
n
investigation

I noticed you can spell 'tarot' with the missing/covered letters. Beyond that, no other anagrams have stood out.

I was thinking the same thing. Taking the errors and the letter blocked out by the cards i get :

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
ChroniCLE EVERYTHIng oN WOrld TO thaN investigATION =
CLE EVERYTHI N WO TO N ATION. or
ChroniCLE ANYTHIng oN WOrld TO thaN investigATION =
CLE ANYTHI n WO TO N ATION.
Depending in if it says everything or anything.

Might be barking up the wrong tree though since I ca't get it to make much sense.

****EDIT***
Beat me to it Yankee lol, I was posting at the same time.

At first I couldn't for the life of me find a key in the photo. What you see as a key is half of the closure for the envelope Smile Could mean a key I guess.

As for it being "the same handwriting" it is a typed font, not actual handwriting. Again, I guess it could mean it is from the same person that put the FD note in the cards?

How's that for cultural heritage. Never seen an envelope like that in my life. Kids diary keys, however.
