There was a memo of sorts recently but I won't go into that. I highly doubt Trospehim just decided to let somebody else finish their story for them. Where's the sense in that?

Well, Trosephim are going to be involved in some way. Troy even hinted on his blog that they're more involved with the film than they're letting on. Well, he outright confirmed it.

Could Trosephim have helped write the film? Possibly. Could the film be the ultimate conclusion of the webseries' story arc? Possibly. Could it have absolutely nothing to do with the characters and plot points from the webseries? Possibly.

We don't know enough to come to any concrete conclusions quite yet, so let's WAIT before we join people like the Twisty Puppet-Pabylopsokapolis in jumping to conclusions.

You forget that Troy specifically said someone else wrote the script and even gave us a name for the guy. He said he and Joseph read the script and liked it. This indicates that they did not write any of the script. When the guy posts it on his blog and makes specific statements about who wrote the damn movie script, why are you questioning it and making shit up?

Whose to say that they didn't join him in the script-writing or give him pointers? Troy can't share how involved they all are with the movie quite yet, so anything is possible, my young twisty friend.

A script has already been written?

Yes, and the three wise ones approve.

I don't know if I'm going to see this movie or not. I'm actually not really a fan of horror, heh. Marble Hornets is just one of the exceptions I make. I'm not really sure how MH measures up to your typical Hollywood horror movie, since I never watch them, but if Troy thinks the script is ok I'm sure it couldn't be THAT bad. Although I am curious as to how much it's based on MH. Just loosely based on the concept, or will it have the same story/characters? Hmm

I don't really like the idea of a thus far free series suddenly ending in a pay-per-view movie. Especially if the actors won't be the same.

But, like I said earlier, it doesn't seem likely. They're going to be shooting it soon, & let's face it, Trosephim do an awful lot of last minute rewrites.

Plus, it would be implicitly violating their statement that the series isn't going to end earlier than planned because of it.
And people never tell lies or get forced into things due to unforeseen circumstances.. right? Right guys?

I never assume Lying Creator is at play without evidence.

Honestly, I'm the same way. Because of that, I don't really agree with the classification of Marble Hornets as horror. I was thinking the other day, & it seems to me like it is closer to (albeit supernatural) mystery than horror. There are quite a few psychological horror elements, but there's a real emphasis on finding answers. It's not like, say, EverymanHYBRID, where the point is to not die.

Not sure I'd classify that as horror either, but that's another topic entirely.

Generally, when a film's adapted from another medium and the original creator is involved (but not credited as a screenwriter, as we've seen is the case with Marble Hornets' film), they're just consulted. For instance, JK Rowling was contacted for some of the plot elements of the Harry Potter films (such as refusing to allow them to have Dumbledore mention a female love interest from any point in his life, seeing as he's gay).

Most creators just get a few set visits and maybe some consulting.
