actually they didn't need to be rearranged. But you got it...I can't seem to make the same method work in any fashion, so I must be doing something.

Bizarre. Likewise, I can't get anything working at all. Doing it the other way round is physically impossible, because Ivory Page doesn't have enough letters. It was coming out with a string of nonesense anyway.

Are we overlooking something really silly?

I don't think we use the names from caution, but solve the present puzzle using the same technique except 'backwards'

problem is, what are we using this technique on? I have tried the keywords for the james site in the order we received them and also the accompanying filenames those keywords link to. I can't get anything...tried all four directions...top to bottom left to right and right to left and bottom to top left to right and right to left.

like you said though the keywords tend to not have enough letters to accomplish this so I have counted no letters as spaces and started the sequence over at 1 when I had too short a word.

I have also been looking for clues that might point to a specific letter of each keyword but so far I am totally coming up empty.

But this is quite fun that I get to work on a puzzle that hasn't been solved before I even have a chance look at it Razz

Hang on... correct me if I'm wrong, but the only Defect puzzle still unsolved is Flags' second keyword. What if we're supposed to apply that rule to Flags, somehow? I've tried with both the names of the countries, and the capital cities, but no luck. Perhaps the actual names of the flags themselves? Let me know if you think I'm going off on one here, or if it's worth pursuing.

I just tried using the capitols and countries together because that would give enough letters. I did it in all 4 directions...nothing that made any sense. I even tried ROTing and then double anagraming anything that looked like it might not be gibberish.

hows that search for the names of the flags coming along?
