They confirmed the visual tear is teleportation a few times. In entry 43 alex doesn't turn around until the tear occurs implying he just appeared. In entry 45, same thing.

As far as distortion goes, not every time we see the operator do we get distortion. it may be soemthing he activates himself rather than having it be a passive thing.

The Operator has some kind of grudge with Tim. We see Alex hunt Tim down and leave him for his "partner".

"He will lead me to you" - Hoody is using Tim to find Alex, and in turn, The Operator. He points the gun at Alex, forcing the operator out of hiding, and shoots at it after being teleported.

Kinda makes sense, they wanted to keep it secret. Obviously the video wasn't posted until after they had arrived at some new location where it could be uploaded.

This entry was a gift. It didn't need to be a video, but they made it anyway and gave us some more content to watch and enjoy. It seems sort of ungrateful for people to question why this wasn't just a tweet.

Anyway, at the very least Jay was washing his face in the sink at the start of the entry, most probably coughing up blood. He wouldn't have tweeted about that.
