Right, I'm assuming that people acted out the videos because, for the sake of the plot, it doesn't really matter.

Speaking of the Seven Trials, I've always wondered how people handled those. Like, no one seriously started a fight with a friend & a loved just to act out a bit part in a Slendervlog, right?

At the time I remember there being a couple people who used it as an opportunity... they posted things like "I've been looking for a reason to dump this girl, now is the perfect chance...." which struck me as odd.

There were also a couple people who freaked over the whole burial thing "I listed my laptop as my most precious item! How do I get rid of my laptop?!?!11?" So I think a couple people did take it seriously.

For my part... editing, and having friends who are actors... it certainly helped. Twisted Evil

I feel alone in saying this, but the one who worries me most in this series is Vinnie. He seems too assured when he talks to the newly uninHABITed Evan, and he appears to have resigned to the fact that their aggressor(s) won't let up anytime soon; but I still get that sinking feeling that he's withholding something important- perhaps something that was disclosed to him in Consensus when he conveniently turned off the camera?

There are several things that stick out to me:

-In Consensus Vinnie mentions how he got a new camera. At first I didn't think much of this (I'll explain later on)

-I think overall Vin is acting strange in Dead end with a Pulse, which has been discussed as well.

-In Not Dead Yet he says that it's been almost over a week since he's heard from Jeff or Evan. With the recent death of Alex and Jessie, why would he wait so long to check on them? With death of loved ones fresh in his mind wouldn't he of rushed over there ASAP to as soon as he didn't hear anything from Jeff? Not to mention how hell bent he was on NOT bringing something to defend himself when checking out Evan's house. Maybe this is because he knew in advance they weren't going to be there?

-Back to the camera part. Daniel obviously does not even think twice about being filmed in Next. This has been thrown around for awhile now as to who it might be, but to no avail! Maybe Daniel has gotten so used to the fact that the three were ALWAYS filming that it didn't even occur to him, especially if it's Vin.

- Also, the fact that his camera is doing the same effect during the most recent upload and really made me think if Vinnie isn't who we think he is at this time. Could he have been the camera man during all of this? HABIT could have manipulated Evan's memory so that he wouldn't remember or realize this fact (since Evan says he only remembers bits of what happened)

Just a theory I've been coming up with. There may be holes (since I'm still a newbie) but maybe we're onto something?

Interesting but I don't think it checks out completely, Jeff didn't know who was filming him.

Goddamn I wish I had been into EMH while the seven trials were going on.

My main problem with it is, "It's not a who, it's more of a what."

I don't think we missed anything in Consensus, because it cuts to security footage whenever Vince mentions changing the batteries. Here's how I imagine it going:

Alex: So, he told me--
Vince: Hold that thought, I have to change the camera batteries.
Alex: *Distracted by the wrong turn.*
Slenderman: Miss me?

Quote:
"I've been looking for a reason to dump this girl, now is the perfect chance...." which struck me as odd.

Sounds kind of psychopathic.

I know the whole trial thing really bothered me for a little while upon reading it, it only occurred to me after a length of time that the videos could be easily faked.

Then again, even these comments could be faked...meta.

The fact that Vinnie's camera does that click-whirr thingy just like the camera-creatures does seem very suspicious. It makes me remember the "extra Vinnie-with-the-camera" that Vin saw in the property.

Could they be spinoff copies of our main characters that didn't make it in the other universes (Jeff's overdose, and Jeff and Vin's car accident)? After they die they go to the candleverse where they can be used as puppets by Slenderman? Is that why we saw Alex attacking Daniel and the slender-puppets wearing what looked very much like Jeff's hoodie?

I still think that the camera-creatures just aren't very perceptible at least by normal people, at least not at first. Jeff could hear him, but never looked at him once. Daniel never looked at him (and if someone was killing you, I think you might try to appeal to the other person in the room at least a bit, especially if it was one of your friends.) In one of the early candleverse vids, the camera-creature is right beside them but it takes them a long time for them to notice it at all. Maybe Vinnie is well on his way to becoming a camera-creature, but not quite yet.

I think perhaps that Vin is Slenderman's puppet as much as Evan is HABIT's.
Maybe not fully controlling him all the time, but having enough of a presence in him to make "suggestions" to Vin.

I know how you feel. I have only been watching since about last October, myself, and I really wish I had been around to be more of a "part" of the series. Well, we can hope that we'll get our chance to help the guys out before it's all over.

On another note, when Evan said he murdered "everyone he loved" in the latest video, does anyone else wonder if that included the sister he mentioned in "Alex"? I think it probably does, but it's strange that neither he nor HABIT has said so outright.

It's odd, the cast's families seem to be largely ignored.

Maybe...they don't exist...they never did...?

Well they're never on camera, but Jeff's and Alex's parents were heavily referenced and mentioned, plus there's a pic of the mother on the EMH wiki.

Truthfully I just thought it was just for sake of the story that they weren't involved so much, just like all the other Slender stories. Look at MH, TT, etc.
If anything they include a brief interview with relatives and short cameos of their girlfriends.

Oh and about the camera thing, don't you think in Very Happy, Jeff would've went nuts if he saw Vin was directing this murder scene?
At least Jeff could've said his name.

I feel the exact same way!!! They're linked, as we all know, but there's a sinister undertone to their interactions, especially since Slendy doesn't beat Vs ass like he does Jeff or Evan.

Vin refers to himself as "Everyman" way back in the beginning. We are now deserting him. Also meta.

I assumed it went without saying that Alex's & Jeff's parents were the exceptions. Not only are they the only ones who are plot points, they are also dead from the start.

It is possible that Evan's parents & sister were killed off-screen, but you'd think they'd at least get a mention.

Maybe this is a little farfetched, and I'm only very recently into this series so take it with a grain of salt. I don't have all the information available, I mainly marathoned the videos.

So here's the thought. What if Evan isn't actually the "perfect host" for HABIT. Vinnie acting very un-Vinnie for a long while now is indeed suspicious. He openly cries for his friends' suffering, yet with all of this going on lately he just seems to hold up in his house. The Vinnie from earlier in the series would be as gung-ho as Evan at finding out what's going on and trying to stop it, just not in as aggressively and physically a manner as Evan would.

Now Vinnie is acting almost blank. What if Vinnie is inHABITed? Not that Evan isn't, but given HABIT's propensity for trickery and general goofing about, what if HABIT is playing the audience like a fiddle? He's leading everyone to suspect things about Evan, who is the most face-value obvious candidate for suspicion, when Vinnie is the real target.

Then again, given the strange way time and space seems to work in this series, it's entirely possible that Vinnie and Evan are currently in some kind of strange limbo at the moment. We haven't really seen outside all that often in a while, have we? And it's always dark out when Vinnie is filming, same as when Evan "woke up" and couldn't get the door open.

I don't know, just some passing thoughts. Maybe they'll feed ideas for further conversations.

All this Vinny being inHABITed certainly makes the way he's seemed so calm about a lot of the past few videos make sense.
